‘He Deserves It’ — Titans Fans React as Rookie QB Cam Ward Secures the Bag and the Future

Cam Ward’s incredible season with the Miami (FL) Hurricanes saw him throw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and four rushing touchdowns. Entering the 2025 NFL Draft, the young quarterback was expected to be among the first few picks. The Tennessee Titans proved those speculations true by drafting him No.1 overall.

Ward put pen to paper by signing his rookie contract on Wednesday, May 21. Here’s what the Titans fans had to say about his deal.

Titans Fans’ Reaction to Cam Ward’s Rookie Contract

Ward was destined to bag a huge deal after being the first name to be called out in this year’s NFL Draft. The 2024 Manning Trophy winner has a $32.1 million signing bonus in his rookie contract. His annual earnings amount to $12,187,500, taking the total value to $48.75 through four years.

Fans flocked to the comment section to share their views on Ward’s hefty contract.

@BAUbleezy believes that the 22-year-old is worth the bills.

@ch518906 claimed that Ward is the chosen one and is a rare talent.

@LakersCanes305 lauded the deal, citing his season in Miami and his humbleness as the reasons behind it being a great deal. The user added that the Titans don’t have to worry about the QB position for a long time.

@DavidKahoun24 was surprised by the guaranteed amount on the deal.

@jmorales145 is excited to see Ward don the Titans colors in the upcoming season.

While some appreciated the rookie QB for his college performances and congratulated him for the deal, a few NFL fans didn’t seem to be on the same page.

@eyesinthesky77 thinks that the Titans didn’t have to pay the No.1 pick this much.

@LandofCourt questioned the management’s strategy behind their draft picks and predicted that the franchise isn’t going to do any better after this either.

@BoSince offered a different angle to Ward’s future in Tennessee.

@STS_P0D has high hopes for the former Hurricanes QB and expects him to spice up the division.

Ward’s deal has divided the Titans and the NFL fans. While some believe the deal to be a game changer for the franchise, some are against the Titans paying nearly $50 million to a rookie QB. The young gun will have a lot to prove when he steps onto the NFL gridiron as a Titan.

If Ward lives up to the expectations, a few years down the line, he might earn his rookie contract earnings annually. The Titans are coming off a 3-14 season, and they would hope to bounce back. In case Ward’s magic comes alive, he would instantly become the fan favorite.
