Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would apparently like to take a more informal approach to negotiations and speak directly with Micah Parsons, and some former players have expressed mixed feelings about it.
At least two ex-NFL players, James Jones and Emmanuel Acho, certainly seemed to be at odds on The Facility.

Is Jerry Jones Negotiating with Micah Parsons?
According to Jones, he would rather not deal with Parson’s agent, David Mulugheta. On Tuesday, Jones openly expressed his desire to negotiate directly with Parsons instead of working with the CBA. His comments have sparked debate around the league, and former players like Acho are not holding back.
Jerry Jones, since you don’t know Micah Parsons agents name, allow me to introduce you to Dawit “David” Mulugheta:

Acho began his argument by pointing out first exactly who Parson’s agent is, listing Mulugheta’s educational background and career history with players. He solidified Mulugheta’s skills as an agent, stating that this is the man who “negotiated the fully guaranteed contract for DeShaun Watson that people are still chasing.”
The Facility co-anchor went on to mention Mulugheta’s other recent endeavors, negotiating the highest cornerback contracts in league history for Jaycee Horn and Derek Stingley Jr. After pointing out the disrespect, Acho addressed Jones more directly, saying “why Jerry Jones, you will regret these comments, is because you talked about Micah Parsons’ family.”
Acho is referencing how Parsons and Mulugheta “hashtag ‘family ties’ on all of their posts together… Athletes first, that’s how they rock with each other.” Driving the point home, he continues, “You do not come at somebody’s family. Jerry Jones, when I tell you, you will regret those comments, I promise you, you will regret those comments.”
Mixed Feelings on Jerry Jones’ Comments
While Acho seemed to get pretty passionate, another former NFL player took quite an opposing view, suggesting the possibility that Jerry Jones is just showing his age. Former WR James Jones stated, “We all know older folk, they say what they want.”

In all sincerity, Jones called the comments no “big deal” and said the Cowboys’ owner is “really close with Micah. You can have conversations with or without Micah.” However, he did go on to add that “the only thing here that really like, sits with me is that agents not a factor.”
Ultimately, though, Jones said he believes that’s all just “Jerry being a little bit older like, I ain’t worried about that,” and proceeds to call the owner right in the sense that he does not have to deal with the agent.
Jones expresses how Jerry has “dudes” who handle all of that communication, so perhaps not knowing Mulugheta’s name is an honest mistake. Either way, it’s likely he’ll remember, should a contract ever get done.
