Ex-NFL DE Points Finger at Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam’s $230 Million Mistake in Failing To Maximize Myles Garrett’s Greatness

A former Super Bowl champ heaped praise on Myles Garrett and ripped apart Jimmy Haslam following the Browns' win over the Steelers in Week 12.

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced a disappointing loss against Myles Garrett’s Cleveland Browns this week with a 24-19 final. While the Browns didn’t win by a big margin, Garrett gathered praise from both fans and analysts over his electrifying performance that helped the Browns pull off the upset victory.

Talking about Garrett’s performance, former Super Bowl XLVI Champion Chris Canty made his thoughts clear about why the team is still struggling.

Chris Canty Gushes Over Myles Garrett While Pointing Out Jimmy Haslam’s Biggest Mistakes

Canty spoke in detail about how great Garrett is as a defensive end while making it clear why it’s Haslam’s fault that the team is still struggling to turn around their now 3-8 season.

During his segment on Unsportsmanlike Radio, Canty said, “Myles Garrett, through last night, he got the 10 sacks. He came into the game with seven. Of course, he had three on the evening, he’s had seven consecutive seasons with 10 sacks or more. The only people in NFL history to have more consecutive double-digit sack seasons, John Randle, Reggie Wayne, that’s it. That’s the list.”

“Pretty damn good company if you’re Myles. Yeah, this dude is, I can’t come up with enough adjectives to describe how great he is. But even with that being said, the Cleveland Browns are still in an impossible situation because of a deal that the owner Jim Haslam made three years ago to trade for Deshaun Watson and fully guarantee his contract.

“And because of that, you’re not going to be able to maximize what Myles Garrett and the rest of the talented players on that roster bring to the table.”

Garret had had three sacks, one forced fumble, and four pressures in the first half of the game and ended the night with five tackles and three sacks.

Following the electric day on the field, Garrett took a moment to relish the win and made it clear that he’s the best. This came after the Steelers’ T.J. Watt shared a cryptic story when the Browns’ star received the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

“I’m number one. And that’s what I am, EDGE 1 to Defensive Player of the Year. I’m the guy. It’s still me. There’s no other person being defended like I am, or schemed or played against like I am,” Garrett said during the postgame interview.

The Browns will now face the Denver Broncos in Week 13 on Monday Night Football.
