If there’s one piece of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl offense most likely to be dealt before next season, it’s star tight end Dallas Goedert.
Goedert is entering the final year of his contract and could demand quite a lucrative amount for his new deal, which Philadelphia’s front office does not want to fork up. However, he can still contribute to a championship-contending team at 30 years old.
A handful of teams desperate for receiving help should pursue a trade for Goedert, including one of the Eagles’ division rivals.

Eagles Predicted To Trade Dallas Goedert to New York Giants for Kayvon Thibodeaux
Last time the Eagles did any sort of business with the New York Giants, it worked out fantastically, as running back Saquon Barkley had a historic first campaign in Philadelphia. The Giants’ front office should still have a sour taste in their mouths from that interaction but could put that aside to make this 2025 NFL Draft day trade.
Philly Sports Network’s Anthony DiBona predicts the Eagles to trade Goedert, the No. 96 pick, and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Giants for EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux and the No. 105 pick.
“The worst kept secret in the NFL is that Dallas Goedert is available for trade,” DiBona began. “Jordan Raanan of ESPN recently mentioned that the Giants have checked in on Goedert’s availability. With many expecting the Giants to select Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter in the first round, there are thoughts that Kayvon Thibodeaux could become available for trade.”
New York holds the No. 3 pick in Round 1, and as DiBona noted, Carter is a prime target with this selection. The former top-five pick, Thibodeaux, immediately heads to the trade block if the Penn State pass rusher is their choice.
Thibodeaux was meant to act as a cornerstone of the Giants’ defense for years to come, but instead, the unit slotted at No. 20 in PFSN’s Defense+ metric last season. While the 24-year-old is not solely responsible for the shortcomings, he recorded just 5.5 sacks in 12 games.
The Eagles agree to this deal based on the flashes of stardom he displayed in 2023. Thibodeaux appeared in all 17 games, finishing with 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Although Philadelphia’s defense was placed at No. 2 in PFSN’s data, it lost a few substantial pieces of their defensive line in free agency, including Josh Sweat and Milton Williams.
If the Giants EDGE can return to 2023 form, it would be a flawless transition for Vic Fangio’s defense even after losing Sweat to the Arizona Cardinals.
