Tight end Dallas Goedert was an unsung hero last season as the Philadelphia Eagles capped off one of the most impressive campaigns in recent memory with a dominant 40–22 Super Bowl win.
While other players got more of the spotlight, and rightfully so, Goedert played an important role in the team’s success. But after seven seasons in Philly, his time might be up. The Eagles have reportedly made Goedert available, and the New York Giants are showing interest.

Giants Expressing Interest in Dallas Goedert
Last season, Goedert had one of the least productive years of his career. He finished with just 496 receiving yards — his lowest total since his rookie season — and missed seven regular-season games. He also had only two receiving touchdowns, a career low.
That’s a step down from Goedert’s previous three seasons when he logged at least 55 catches, 590 yards, and three touchdowns in each campaign. Still, that may be the version the Giants are hoping to unlock if they pursue him.
On Tuesday, April 15, ESPN Giants insider Jordan Raanan reported that New York has shown interest in acquiring Goedert. He also shared that the team has reached out to the Eagles about a potential trade.
The Giants currently have Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, Chris Manhertz, and Greg Dulcich on their TE depth chart, but none have the experience or production that Goedert brings. That’s why it makes sense for New York to target him as they try to become playoff contenders with a new quarterback under center.
While Goedert’s regular-season numbers last year were a career low, he stepped up in the playoffs, posting 215 receiving yards and converting nine first downs.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has praised Goedert’s leadership and presence in the locker room. Although Sirianni has said he wants to keep the team’s Super Bowl core together, big-money deals for Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun this offseason may force the team to move on from Goedert, especially with limited tight end depth.
Goedert is entering the final season of a four-year, $57 million contract. He has no guaranteed money remaining and carries an $11.7 million cap hit. Thus, the Eagles may look to create cap space and add draft capital by dealing him ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft by Jacob Infante, the Eagles are projected to select Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone II with the 165th overall pick in Round 5. But if Philadelphia does trade Goedert, they could also target Harold Fannin Jr., Miami’s Elijah Arroyo, or LSU’s Mason Taylor earlier in the draft.
