As teams across the league return to their practice fields for 2025, each will have questions and conundrums to figure out before September. For the Philadelphia Eagles, the goal will be to ensure the team is suitably stacked with talent to make another Super Bowl run.
The reigning champions’ roster is the envy of the NFL. The Eagles have found multiple stars in every draft since 2021, after taking Jalen Hurts in 2020. The team’s 2025 draft class will be looking to make a similar impact in the years to come and have a chance to prove themselves in the coming months.
Philadelphia Eagles Looking to Build a Dynasty
Winning a Super Bowl can feel like a final chapter in a team’s journey, culminating years of hard work and suffering, and a moment players know will be their finest. For some teams, though, a Super Bowl win can instead feel like the beginning of a new story. As exciting as it was, the Eagles’ dismantling of the Kansas City Chiefs in February was an ominous warning for the rest of the NFL.
The Eagles didn’t win with veteran players searching for a late shot at a Lombardi Trophy; they won it with a carefully selected group of young stars. It would surprise no one if the current core of players went on to win multiple more Super Bowls together, such is the intimidating strength of the roster.
A recent article by PFSN’s Jacob Infante noted that the Eagles can join an elite list of teams with a Super Bowl win in 2025.
“Only nine teams in NFL history have repeated as Super Bowl champions. Can the Eagles become the 10th?
“They lost a few key defenders in free agency, but Philadelphia’s core remains intact. On paper, the Eagles are one of the league’s most complete teams again in 2025.”
Potential Areas of Improvement for Eagles
The most significant offseason apprehension surrounding the Eagles is the team’s ability to adapt to new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Success often leads to losing key staff members, as coordinators are poached for higher-status jobs elsewhere. That was the case for the Eagles this year, as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore left the team to become head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
On the field, though, the Eagles may be looking to bring in a veteran cornerback to replace Darius Slay, who joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency. Former New York Giants’ Adoree’ Jackson has joined the team, but he started just five games in 2024. However, he allowed the third-lowest completion percentage of any cornerback targeted at least 40 times last season.
Watched a bit of Adoree Jackson. Pretty evident he can still play. The Giants weren’t worried about leaving him one-on-one on the outside and Jackson has just enough speed to cover vertically in the games I watched. He looked strong at the catch point. A third-choice wide receiver could also be an option, after Jahan Dotson caught just 57.6% of his targets in that role last year. That catch percentage ranked 90th among all receivers with at least 30 targets last season, leaving room for improvement.
Whether the Eagles add more players or not, their roster will be the best in the NFL next season, making them the early favorites to win it all again.
