Despite an encouraging 10-1 start to the 2023 campaign, the Philadelphia Eagles have lost five of their last six games heading into their Super Wild Card Weekend showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.
Let’s get some wins with some of my favorite DFS picks for the final game of the opening weekend of the postseason between the Eagles and the Bucs.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Top DFS Picks on DraftKings
Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($15,900) – Captain
Mike Evans has proven he still has plenty left in the tank at 30 years old this season, with 79 receptions for 1,255 receiving yards and 13 TDs.
If Tampa Bay has any chance of upsetting the defending NFC champion Eagles on Monday, then Evans will need to exploit one of the worst secondary in the NFL in a big way.
Philadelphia gave up an average of 252 passing yards per game in the regular season, which was the second-highest mark in the league!
Evans produced five receptions for 60 yards and a score when the two teams met back in Week 3. If anything, Philly’s pass defense has worsened, making Evans a solid candidate for the captain spot in this Showdown format.
D’Andre Swift, RB, Philadelphia Eagles ($7,200)
By most standards, Eagles RB D’Andre Swift had a career year with his first 1,000-yard rushing season and finding pay dirt on six occasions.
Unfortunately, the struggling Eagles offense and limited short-yardage scoring opportunities playing behind QB Jalen Hurts have negatively impacted his fantasy production over the back half of the year.
However, if you recall these two teams’ previous encounter, Swift had one of the best rushing outings of his 2023 campaign, dropping 130 yards on the ground against the Bucs.
With players like Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Devonta Smith all dealing with injuries recently, Swift could see another busy day against this Tampa Bay defense.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles ($8,600)
Speaking of Smith, he was unable to play in the season finale against the New York Giants while dealing with an ankle injury.
Smith did tell reporters that he expects to take the field against the Bucs and was listed as a full participant for the team’s walkthrough practice session on Thursday.

If Smith is able to go for this game, he draws a matchup against a Bucs defense that has allowed an average of 248 passing yards per game — the fourth most in the NFL.
In addition, if Brown is unable to play while dealing with a knee injury, then expect an expanded role for Smith against a vulnerable secondary.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($9,800)
Baker Mayfield has quite a bit on the line heading into this playoff game against the Eagles. He is potentially playing for a lucrative contract extension with the Bucs and could improve his value on the open market with a win or solid performance.
Prior to having a rough performance against the Carolina Panthers while battling through some injuries, Mayfield threw for a combined 10 touchdown passes over his previous four games.
As mentioned with Evans, the weakness of this Eagles defense is on the back end, which puts Mayfield in a prime spot to produce solid fantasy numbers in this favorable matchup.
Trey Palmer, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($2,800)
While I expect Evans to do much of the heavy lifting in the passing game for the Bucs, there is certainly room for more than one pass-catching option to eat against this Eagles defense.
WR Trey Palmer has been a bit hit or miss, but his role has been pretty consistent over the past 10 games. He also provides a bit of big-play upside, which can happen a bit more frequently against this leaky Philadelphia secondary.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense ($4,800)
The Bucs’ defense definitely hasn’t been the stingiest unit this year, but they have been better against the pass in recent weeks — giving up an average of just 179 yards through the air over the last three games — and pitching a shutout against the Panthers last week.
In addition, the Eagles’ offense is banged up and was completely out of sorts against the Giants in the season finale.
If the Eagles; struggles on offense continue this week, the Bucs’ defense could capitalize with some big plays against a struggling unit.
