Dynasty Rankings 2024: Top Fantasy Options at QB Include Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Caleb Williams

Which quarterbacks top our dynasty rankings, and who are the young players that you should consider targeting ahead of the 2024 season?

    Published on

When it comes to dynasty fantasy football rankings, the quarterback position is perhaps the most stable, especially at the higher end. Careers under center tend to be longer than that of the average NFL player, so if you can get a couple of good options on your team, you can be set at the position for the next 5-10 years.

However, if you’re not in a position where you feel comfortable with your QB, then trying to find one you trust can be tough. Do you try and trade for an established star or target a young player who could develop into one for the next decade?

That is where our dynasty rankings at Pro Football Network come in. Each of our analysts individually compiles their quarterback dynasty rankings, which together produce our consensus rankings. Our rankings then drive our completely free Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer, helping you to dominate your dynasty leagues.

Who Are the Best Quarterbacks To Draft in Dynasty?

It’s hard to argue with the top QB options in dynasty leagues right now being Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Mahomes is on the path to challenge as the greatest quarterback of all time, and while that has only resulted in one top-three fantasy finish in the last five years, he’s a player you can rely on.

In contrast, Allen has been the most consistent fantasy option at the position in the last four years. In that timeframe, he’s been the top-ranked fantasy QB on three occasions, with the one exception being a second-place finish. He also hasn’t finished outside the top seven players overall in that span.

A big part of Allen’s success has been his rushing prowess, with 36 rushing touchdowns and 2,470 rushing yards in those four years. In 2023, he had 43% of the Bills’ carries inside the 5-yard line, which was second among all quarterbacks, behind only Jalen Hurts at 53.3%.

Hurts and Allen both found the end zone 15 times last year. That ability to score touchdowns with their legs gives them a safe floor and tremendous ceiling.

They come in narrowly above Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, who are both worthy of top-five consideration at the position. However, they’ve had injury concerns, which could frustrate fantasy managers both short and long term.

Among the young players, C.J. Stroud, Caleb Williams, and Anthony Richardson are intriguing names to consider in 2024. Stroud grew into his rookie season, and his ninth-placed fantasy finish could be somewhat misleading for managers. He has top-five potential if he continues to develop, but the risk of a sophomore slump as teams adapt to both his and his offensive coordinator’s styles is very real.

Williams comes into arguably the best position that a QB taken first overall has ever been in. He is surrounded by talent in D’Andre Swift, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and Cole Kmet. That surrounding cast could ensure Williams is a top-10 fantasy QB right away.

The wild card is Richardson, who demonstrated his potential last year with 73 fantasy points in two completed games and two he left early. Four rushing touchdowns in four games is mouth-watering, but Richardson’s injury issues largely came when he left the pocket. So is the risk worth the reward?

The intriguing considerations for the dynasty QB rankings come just outside the top 10.

Was Jordan Love’s 2023 season a sign of better things to come? Can Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins offense take another step? Can Jayden Daniels or Kyler Murray use their legs to make themselves top-five quarterbacks that you can get in the mid-teens? Is the Trevor Lawrence breakout finally coming in Year 4?
