Dolphins Fans Sweeten on Jackson Powers-Johnson, Draft Him More Than Any Other Player in 2024 NFL Mock Drafts

Jackson Powers-Johnson has been the most popular first-round choice in the 2024 NFL Draft for Dolphins fans using the Mock Draft Simulator.

With the 21st selection in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, which position will the Miami Dolphins address with their top pick? Currently, the most logical choice according to Dolphins fans is the offensive line.

Miami Dolphins Fans Want To Draft an Offensive Lineman

In Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Simulator (MDS), Jackson Powers-Johnson, a 21-year-old offensive lineman out of the University of Oregon, has been the most popular choice from Dolphins fans for Miami’s first-round pick.

Of the six most drafted players by Dolphins fans in the last seven days, all but two of them are offensive linemen.

Following Powers-Johnson, DT T’Vondre Sweat has been the most popular pick for the Dolphins using the MDS. The gap between these two players isn’t close, however, as Powers-Johnson has been drafted almost twice as much in the last week.

The next most popular picks by Dolphins fans are Oregon State OT Taliese Fuaga, Texas TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, Georgia OT Amarius Mims, and Georgia C Sedrick Van Pran.

Needless to say, it’s clear which position group Miami’s faithful believes this team needs to address.

Would Jackson Powers-Johnson Be a Good Pick for Miami?

Powers-Johnson, a three-year player at Oregon and recipient of the Rimington Trophy, is considered to be the best center in the draft and expected to be the first center off the board.

Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network says Powers-Johnson “feels like a high-level NFL starter.”

“Powers-Johnson doesn’t have elite length, but he’s still able to channel massive amounts of power and torque on his extensions, punches, and drive blocks,” Cummings said.

In Cummings’ scouting report, Powers-Johnson’s strengths include “a strong, dense, and well-leveraged frame with great mass” as well as a “quick accelerator both laterally and vertically” to a couple.

Powers-Johnson not only is considered the best prospect at his position, but he could fill a hole on the Dolphins’ offensive line if they don’t retain C Connor Williams in free agency.
