DK Metcalf appeared on the Seahawks' injury report ahead of tonight's game against the Lions. Is Metcalf expected to suit up?

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf appeared on the team’s injury report ahead of their “Monday Night Football” showdown against the Detroit Lions. What is Metcalf’s injury, and will he be able to play tonight? Here’s the latest on Metcalf’s status.

What’s the Latest on DK Metcalf’s Injury?

Metcalf is dealing with a hand injury — the same one that caused him to miss a practice last week. However, just as he was able to play in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, he’s good to go tonight against the Lions.

Metcalf was a full participant in practice throughout the week, so this hasn’t been limiting him. And while he’s listed on the injury report, Metcalf doesn’t even have an injury designation for tonight’s game, which is a great sign.

Metcalf certainly didn’t seem limited by his hand last week against Miami, as he caught four passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Seahawks fans and fantasy managers shouldn’t be worried about the wide receiver tonight against Detroit.

    Metcalf’s Fantasy Outlook

Defenses can enter a game with the Seahawks with the goal of taking away the chunk gain by Metcalf, but executing that plan is an entirely different conversation.

Metcalf has a 50+ yard reception in consecutive games after a dud in Week 1, and with the Lions owning the second-highest opponent average depth of target since last season (8.9 yards, league average: 7.7 yards), another big play (or two) could be in store.

Geno Smith’s limitations as a passer have a greater impact on the secondary options in this offense. You can feel just fine about starting Metcalf every single week, even with a wide range of outcomes in his profile.

Smith has been borderline unstoppable when not pressured through three weeks (57 of 69 for 545 yards and two touchdowns), a nice skill to have when facing a Detroit defense that is just a middle-of-the-pack pressure unit.
