The Seattle Seahawks will face the New York Jets in Week 13. Here’s the latest fantasy football news and advice to help you with your lineups this week and moving forward, especially regarding WR DK Metcalf.
Is DK Metcalf Playing in Week 13?
Updated at 11:30 AM ET on Sunday, December 1
Metcalf is active for today's game.
Metcalf (shoulder) received a pair of days off before logging a full practice on Friday. He doesn’t carry any designation on the final injury report.
As Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times notes, this was the first we heard of Metcalf’s shoulder injury. He was sidelined by a knee injury earlier this season, but this new issue clearly isn’t as severe.
Metcalf hasn’t been quite as productive in two games since returning from his MCL sprain. He’s recorded 11 catches for 129 yards and a 20% target rate in two games. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who feasted in Metcalf’s absence, has retained his status as the Seahawks top receiver, recording 16 catches for 187 yards and a 27% target rate in that same span.
We’ll continue to monitor the Seahawks’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.
Should You Start or Sit DK Metcalf in Week 13?
DK Metcalf’s role in his two games back has looked just like the one he left, and that’s a good thing. A player with this athletic profile carries extreme upside into any matchup.
That said, I do worry about his potential to access that with Jaxon Smith-Njigba amid his breakout. Metcalf was a WR1 in both Week 2 and Week 3, but he has just one top-25 performance since. I have him ranked safely in the middle of those outcomes, checking in as a middling WR2 this week and moving forward.
The Jets have allowed the fourth-lowest red-zone completion percentage this season (43.2%), further dimming the star of Metcalf for Week 13. You’re still playing him in all formats, but he now resides in the Courtland Sutton tier as opposed to the Puka Nacua one.

PFN Insight on the Jets' Defense
Since Robert Saleh's departure, the New York Jets' defense hasn't been pretty. At the time of his firing, this was a top-three unit, with two top-five weeks and two others that had ranked seventh through five weeks.
They are now barely inside the top 10 overall, with just one top-10 week, two top-12 performances, and three weeks ranked outside the top 20 in the last six games.
This is a frustrating downturn for a unit that Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich had built into a juggernaut in their tenure together. They inherited a bit of a mess from the Adam Gase regime, and while the first year (2021) was equally bad, they had been a top-five unit in each of the last two seasons.
New York's pass defense has been the main area to fall off since Saleh's departure, driving the general downturn in fortunes that has Gang Green slipping toward mediocrity.

Seattle Seahawks at New York Jets Trends
Seattle Seahawks
Team: After this week, the Seahawks play a playoff hopeful in three consecutive weeks (Cardinals, Packers, and Vikings).
QB: Geno Smith posted a quick pass rate of 64.5% on Sunday, his highest rate since Week 5.
Offense: Seattle pulled off a big win over the Cardinals on Sunday despite punting on half of their possessions, their highest rate of the season.
Defense: The Seahawks have intercepted a pass in five straight games, a run coming on the heels of five straight games without an interception.
Fantasy: Jaxon Smith-Njigba is one of five receivers to score 19 PPR points in three straight games this season (others: A.J. Brown, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Malik Nabers).
Betting: It’s been a weird run for the Seahawks – they are 1-4-4 ATS over their past nine games against the AFC.
New York Jets
Team: Aaron Rodgers didn’t lose more than three games in three seasons while with the Packers. If the Jets can’t upset the Seahawks or Dolphins over the next two weeks, the 2024 Jets will have a pair of four-game losing streaks in just over two months.
QB: Rodgers has 20 pressured dropbacks over his past two games and has totaled 19 passing yards in those instances.
Offense: Baby steps? New York scored on 30% of their drives in Week 9, a rate that ticked up to 33.3% in Week 10 and 41.7% in the Week 11 loss to the Colts.
Defense: In Weeks 1-5, New York allowed just 1.39 points per drive, a rate that has spiked to 2.66 since (91.4% increase).
Fantasy: Davante Adams has as many top-30 finishes with the Raiders as the Jets this season (one).
Betting: The Jets are 1-5-1 ATS in their past seven games coming off their bye.
