Former NFL Network analyst and host of the podcast “The Season with Peter Schrager” left “Good Morning Football” for a position with ESPN on April 1 and has been a welcome addition to “The Worldwide Leader in Sports.” In appreciation of all that Schrager brings, let’s look at the veteran analyst’s life after GMFB.

Peter Schrager’s Farewell To ‘Good Morning Football’
ESPN announced Schrager’s addition to the network on Tuesday, April 1, after the league insider and TV personality inked a multi-year agreement. Of course, the analyst has gained a lot of adoration over the years, and his farewell on Monday, March 31, paid homage to his time at GMFB.
Addressing some earlier reports, Schrager said in his farewell, “The rumors are true. Today is my last day on Good Morning Football. I end with great feelings. We’re going to celebrate today. I love everyone on this show. It’s all good. But this will be the last episode I’ll be on this program.”
Schrager added, “And with a heavy heart, I’m stepping away. But it’s also for good reasons and for a bright future. And hopefully, we’ll all still be crossing paths and we can talk about ball elsewhere. It’ll be fine.”
To replace his regular appearances as co-host of GMFB, Schrager transformed into a frequent analyst on various ESPN shows such as “First Take,” “Get Up,” “NFL Live,” “SportsCenter,” and “The Pat McAfee Show.”

In a release, Schrager said, “I grew up watching ‘SportsCenter’ three or four times every morning before school and swore by that ‘NFL Primetime’ music with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson doing the highlights on Sunday nights.”
He continued, “I can’t wait to be a part of it all and am thrilled to be joining this incredible team.” And at ESPN, management is equally thrilled about having brought the analyst into the fold.
ESPN’s president of content Burke Magnus’ initial statement on Schrager’s hiring noted, “Peter will have an instant impact at ESPN, combining his charismatic style and deep knowledge of the NFL.”
The ESPN president praised Schrager’s natural charm, wit, and passion for the NFL, adding, “His versatility is an asset and will be on display across our shows and platforms as he becomes a signature voice of our NFL coverage. He is a tremendous addition to our roster.”
So far, Schrager’s contributions to ESPN, including on their website, have lived up to the hype, bringing his trademark personality and vibrant passion to the network. He will help break down every move of the 2025 NFL Draft on various shows during the process.
