New York Giants running back Devin Singletary missed the last two games due to a groin injury. Will he be able to return to the lineup in Week 7 when the Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Latest on Devin Singletary’s Injury
Singletary has been sidelined due to a groin injury, but he will play in Week 7 against Philadelphia.
Last week, he got in several limited practices, but the Giants ultimately decided to sit him for an additional week.
Fortunately, Singletary resumed practicing in full on Thursday, and head coach Brian Daboll confirmed that he’s good to go for Sunday’s game. However, Daboll noted that Tyrone Tracy Jr. has earned a bigger role and will “get plenty of playing time” as well.
Daboll also said that the team will keep an eye on Singletary throughout the game and see how he’s feeling, so it sounds like the veteran running back will be eased back into action rather than resuming his full workload immediately.
On the #Giants RB situation: Devin Singletary will return on Sunday vs. #Eagles. But Tyrone Tracy will still see significant playing time.
“He’s earned it,” coach Brian Daboll said. “He’s done a good job. So he’ll get plenty of playing time.”

Be sure to keep an eye on the Giants’ injury report as Sunday approaches, just to make sure Singletary doesn’t experience a setback of some sort. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.
Fantasy Outlook for Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr.
One of Singletary’s strengths throughout his NFL career has been his availability. After four DNPs as a rookie with the Buffalo Bills, he sat out just one game from 2020-2023, making the groin injury that has now cost him two games noteworthy.
In September, Singletary had just one top-20 finish, a result of him averaging just 0.71 yards per carry before contact. There’s not much he can do about that, and with New York’s passing game not exactly threatening defenses, running room isn’t going to get much easier to find.
Singletary will continue to be my highest-ranked running back in this offense. With that said, Tracy looked outstanding while filling in for Singletary, racking up 107 total yards and a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. In fact, Tracy became the first Giants running back to post a top-10 fantasy finish this season.

The rookie was a top-20 producer in both of his starts in Singletary’s absence, totaling 237 yards.
It’s hard to believe that Tracy is still relatively new to the RB position (since he’s a converted wide receiver) and that he slipped to the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Daboll has confirmed that Tracy has earned a bigger role, which could be bad news for both running backs from a fantasy perspective since I’m unsure that this offense can sustain multiple running backs.
