Demarcus Robinson Player Waiver Wire Week 12: Should You Add Him To Play the Jaguars?

Should fantasy football managers add Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Demarcus Robinson off the waiver wire to play against the Jaguars in Week 12?

The Baltimore Ravens are looking for their fifth-straight win in Week 12 as they face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fantasy football managers are starting to lock in their rosters for the playoffs as the next few weeks will prove who has championship mettle and who doesn’t.

One playmaker in the spotlight to produce is Ravens wide receiver Demarcus Robinson. We’re on top of all angles in this matchup for fantasy managers and bettors alike — let’s dive into whether you should add Robinson off the waiver wire and start him against the Jaguars.

Should You Add Demarcus Robinson From the Waiver Wire for Week 12?

Robinson was one of the surprising breakout performers in Week 11. He had flashed just once prior to this game, going back to his Week 8 performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he posted six receptions for 64 yards. However, no one saw his 128-yard performance against the Carolina Panthers coming.

Despite the Ravens’ need for more playmaking in a WR group that has only produced the 27th-most yards in the NFL, no one has emerged as a consistent option for quarterback Lamar Jackson. Not having Rashod Bateman for four games has surely hurt. However, this was the main concern that I and many others had for the offense heading into the season.

Robinson’s season-high of nine receptions and 128 yards came as he received more than 75% of offensive snaps for just the second time this season. He’s certainly trending in the right direction entering Week 12 against Jacksonville.

Uncertainty appears to be surfacing with the Ravens’ injury situation. Both tight end Mark Andrews and running back Gus Edwards are questionable for this game but appear to be trending in the right direction to play. Adding more reliable playmakers, even in the running game, is potentially harmful to Robinson’s stock.

With Bateman out with a foot injury, there is an opportunity for Robinson to be the WR1 in Baltimore. You could certainly do worse than adding him to your roster. I think he’s a worthy waiver wire addition if your roster is hurting significantly at the position.

If you can’t get Robinson on the waiver wire, consider adding him to a weekly Best Ball tournament on Underdog Fantasy, where thousands of dollars are up for grabs in prizes every week.

Is Demarcus Robinson a Good Play Against Jacksonville?

The Jaguars have given up the eighth-most fantasy points per game throughout the season.

With the Ravens locked into a difficult, AFC North playoff race, beating teams like the Jaguars is critical. Jacksonville has the 10th-best rush defense in the league, whereas their passing defense is much more vulnerable. They’ve given up the 24th-most passing yards in the league.

Once again, Robinson appears to have the opportunity to earn himself a bigger role within this office. Unfortunately, this is the problem with the Ravens’ playmakers. They are inconsistent from week to week, and we have no idea of their true ceiling on any given Sunday.

It’s conceivable that Robinson again goes for 100 yards and even catches a touchdown. On the contrary, he could also produce his seventh game under 20 yards receiving on the season.

The answer as to whether you should start Robinson against the Jaguars really comes down to how desperate you need to be at the wide receiver position. If you’re down to relying on waiver wire additions at this point in the season, then taking a stab on a player with a low ceiling but a solid upside makes sense. Just be aware there may not be a player with more variance than Robinson.
