Two University of Colorado prospects have sat atop 2025 NFL Draft boards for months. Now, with less than a month to go until decision day, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch over where Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will land.
Hunter has continued to insist that he will play both wide receiver and cornerback at the next level. The Heisman Trophy winner believes he can do it — and do it better than anyone ever has.
As for Sanders, he’s already carving out his own path, following in the footsteps of his father, Deion Sanders, with an impressive collegiate career. Now, it’s Deion who believes Shedeur may be drafted even higher than he was.

Deion Foresees 1 Colorado Superstar Landing in Ohio
Deion Sanders, Colorado head coach and former No. 5 overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft, was recently seen in conversation with top decision-makers from the Cleveland Browns.
Naturally, the conversation turned toward Shedeur and Hunter. Following his meeting with Browns brass, Deion made a bold prediction.

The eight-time Pro Bowler had glowing words for Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and the organization.
“Pleasant, it was charming, it was engaging and it was cool, it was alright,” Deion said. “He is a good guy and I think I liked it.”

Reflecting on how smoothly the meeting went, Deion offered a hint about the draft.
“I think one of those guys gonna be there,” he said, referring to Shedeur or Hunter potentially joining the Browns.
Predicting Draft Position of Lethal Colorado Duo
In PFSN’s most recent mock draft, analyst Justin Lewis has Hunter going No. 3 to the New York Giants.
“The New York Giants are no longer pressed for an immediate solution at QB, as they signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston as their quarterbacks for next season. Because of those two, there’s far less temptation to take Sanders or Jaxson Dart here, allowing them to select the best available player. In this case, it is two-way superstar Travis Hunter,”
Lewis wrote.
As for Sanders, Lewis projects him to go No. 7 overall to the New York Jets, joining Hunter in the Big Apple.
“The New York Jets hired Aaron Glenn as their head coach and decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers. Justin Fields is currently the Jets’ QB1, but he’s on his third NFL team and may not be the team’s long-term answer. This is an organization that needs a star, and there might not be a bigger star in the draft than Sanders.
“Sanders would be surrounded by Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall and protected by an improved offensive line. While his arm strength is average, Sanders’ quick release could likely pay dividends early as the rookie figures it out,” Lewis wrote.
As Sanders and Hunter prepare for the next phase of their football journey, one thing is clear: the entire NFL world is watching the Colorado superstars very closely.
