It is a hectic month in the life of one of football’s all-time greats, Deion Sanders. The head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes is preparing for a 2025 NFL Draft that could see multiple players from his program join the league, including potentially two first-rounders.
Right alongside the success he’s enjoying on the professional front, the family man has also been happy with developments on the personal front. On social media, his heartfelt reaction to his daughter becoming a mother quickly went viral.

Proud Father Deion Sanders Sends Love to Daughter Deiondra Sanders
Sanders has one of the most illustrious résumés in sports history. One of the few athletes to suit up in two major sports — the NFL and MLB — Sanders was a two-time Super Bowl champion, Defensive Player of the Year, and even made a World Series appearance.
However, alongside all the accolades, one other distinction fits the legendary figure: dad. A father of five, Sanders has always been open and proud about his love for his children and has given them a platform to grow and thrive.
Married twice, Sanders had two children with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers — Deiondra and Deion Sanders Jr. Then, he had Colorado duo Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, alongside Shelomi Sanders, with his second wife, Pilar Biggers-Sanders.
This time around, it was his eldest daughter, Deiondra Sanders, who made headlines after a heartwarming post on X. She wrote, “I’m in line holding Snow and someone asked, ‘Is that your little boy?’ I said yes omg I still can’t believe I’m really a mom lol I love it here.”
The moment is doubly special for the eldest Sanders child, who gave birth to Snow on Aug. 9 after a series of complications. Suffering from fibroids — noncancerous growths in or around the womb — led to concerns about the baby’s safety.
Even the postpartum period hasn’t been easy. She’s been open about her experience and the depression she suffered. In an appearance on “The Baller Show”, she opened up about the emotional toll.
“I didn’t really think it was that real because I was like, ‘Oh, I have a lot of help, you know. I don’t think I’ll be going through it.’ But it hit me hard. I still had so much help, and I still have so much help, and it’s still thoughts that I’m like, ‘Why do I think like this?’
Even in the very beginning, I’m like, ‘I feel like I should be happier.’ Me, having a new baby, why do I feel like this? Different emotions that I had are very real, and no one really tells you how to deal with them. No one tells you that a lot of stuff you will feel is not real.”

But even through the hardships and four myomectomy surgeries, the 32-year-old was able to carry Snow to term safely. Her journey led Sanders to reply to her post with the ultimate fatherly message: “Love ya baby and proud of you!”
Big Day for the Sanders Family Coming in April
For Coach Prime, he has always made it clear that family is important, and family is about the people you keep around you and support and not just blood.
This is apparent in his relationship with his players at Colorado, including LaJohntay Wester. However, for the Sanders family, the NFL Draft will be an important day. Shedeur Sanders could be a first-round pick, though his draft stock has been a rollercoaster. His brother, Shilo, also has a chance to be drafted, though he has some uncertainty on whether or not he will be undrafted.
Regardless, for the Sanders family, it will be an important day, especially when considering the expanded family that includes all of Deion’s sons at Colorado.
