Deion Sanders Jr. Has 3-Word Message for Colorado’s Wide Receivers Going to NFL Featuring Travis Hunter

Deion Sanders Jr. responded to a popular social media profile that recently released an appreciation post for the Colorado Buffaloes wide receivers.

Earlier this week, Deion Sanders Jr. responded to a social media post highlighting the success of the Colorado Buffaloes’ wide receivers, including Travis Hunter, in recent seasons. Sanders reposted the post on X and included a caption outlining how he believed the Buffaloes’ wide receivers were taking over the NFL, a claim detailed in the original post.

The popular X profile “@keepitbuffs” posted a photo that outlined how the Buffaloes receivers will soon be taking over the National Football League. The photo included top prospect Hunter, along with current Arizona Cardinals and former Buffaloes wide receiver Xavier Weaver, amongst others.

“Colorado WR’s taking over the NFL soon ‼️⏳ 📈 #SkoBuffs🦬 #UpTheSko #WhoNext,” the post was captioned.

In response, Deion Sanders Jr. made clear that he agreed with the statements made by the popular account.

    “I believe it,” he stated.

    NFL Outlook for Colorado’s WRs

Weaver was undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he signed with the Cardinals prior to the beginning of the campaign. He didn’t get much playing time in a receivers room that also featured generational talent Marvin Harrison Jr. and superstar tight end Trey McBride. On the year, Weaver had just two targets, both of which were not caught.

Meanwhile, Hunter — the other marquee name in the post — is expected to be one of the top selections in this year’s NFL Draft. In Pro Football Network’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft with trades included, Hunter was selected No. 4 overall by the New England Patriots.

“Travis Hunter is one of one. If we had allowed ourselves to split the player into a cornerback and wide receiver, he would have ranked first and 12th, respectively.

“He’s the top cornerback in the NFL Draft, and he’s the best receiver. His rare ball skills as a wide receiver translate to the other side of the ball, and he’s played with more physicality in 2024 than in 2023.

“Hunter won’t play full-time on both sides at the next level. Teams must decide if he’s more valuable to them as a full-time defensive or offensive player.

“All that said, it would be malpractice to take away a potentially generational defensive prospect from that side of the ball entirely. A ‘best of both worlds’ scenario would be playing 80-100% of the team’s defensive snaps while also playing 10-20% of the offensive snaps.”
