There are few people more involved in the football world than Deion Sanders.
He is the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, a Hall of Fame cornerback, the father of Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and more. Sanders, of course, keeps up with the NFL, and Week 7 Thursday Night Football is one of the most unique in recent memory.
Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco battled it out in a divisional matchup few expected to see happen this season, and Sanders had quite a good summary of the game on social media.

How Did Deion Sanders React to the Bengals-Steelers Game on TNF?
Sanders tuned in to watch two of his son’s divisional rivals battle it out. Flacco, who is commanding the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense, began the season ahead of Sanders on the Browns’ depth chart. He started four games before being benched in favor of rookie Dillon Gabriel, which paved the way for Sanders to become the backup in Cleveland.
The Buffaloes coach shared a seven-word reaction to the game on X, writing, “Battle of the OG’s ! Flacco vs Rogers.”
Rodgers is 41 years old, while Flacco is a year younger, at 40. It is only the second game in NFL history where both starting quarterbacks on a team are 40 or above. Their ages even led Cameron Heyward to coin the phrase “Icy Hot Bowl” for the matchup.
The last time two quarterbacks over 40 squared off in a football game was nearly five years ago, when Tom Brady and Drew Brees faced each other three separate times during the 2020 NFL season.
As far as the oldest quarterback matchup in league history goes, Brady and Brees’ third matchup takes the cake over Rodgers and Flacco.
When Brady and Brees faced off on January 17, 2021, their combined age was 85 years and 172 days. By comparison, the Rodgers and Flacco duo falls short, currently at 82 years and 228 days.

Sanders also included in his post that “This is good football.” It was a much tighter and more entertaining game than anyone could’ve anticipated. The Bengals ended up winning 33-31 to move to 3-4 on the season and the Steelers fall to 4-2.
Neither Flacco nor Rodgers looked anywhere near the end of their career, as the former recorded three passing touchdowns to no interceptions and the latter tallied four passing touchdowns to a pair of picks. Superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was the go-to weapon for Flacco all night with a jaw-dropping 16 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown.
