‘Jerry Jones Needs To Have His Puppet Strings Cut’ – Deion Sanders’ Biggest Critic Makes Bold Case for Coach Prime’s Future in the NFL

    Published on

Jason Whitlock, who has been an outspoken critic of Deion Sanders all season, made a U-turn regarding Coach Prime's link to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys are in a tailspin, and speculation is rife about who could save America’s Team. Media personality Jason Whitlock has suggested Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders for the head coaching job in Dallas.

This contrasts Whitlock’s previous views, which have downplayed Deion Sanders all season. A harsh critic of Sanders’ flamboyant style, Whitlock has surprisingly flipped the script on his ‘Fearless’ podcast.

Jason Whitlock Is Team Deion Sanders All of a Sudden

Whitlock tweeted an excerpt from his “FEARLESS” podcast with the caption: “Jerry Jones needs to have his puppet strings cut. I believe Deion Sanders is the only person that can do that. I have to acknowledge that Deion Sanders has proven his worth as a valuable head coach, and it makes perfect sense with the Dallas Cowboys.”

Currently steering the Colorado Buffaloes (8-2, 6-1, Big 12), the former Cowboys legend has become one of the most talked-about names in football. Under his leadership, the Buffaloes are vying for a College Football Playoff spot in his second season.

His quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, and two-way sensation Travis Hunter are already prospected to be the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, giving more air to rumors of Coach Prime heading to the NFL. Whitlock believes the Cowboys offer the perfect opportunity for Sanders to bring his larger-than-life persona to the biggest stage in football.

“The Cowboys need a coach who can dwarf Jerry Jones and there’s only one coach that can dwarf Jerry Jones: Deion Sanders. I have to admit that Deion Sanders is the right man to become the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.”

“There’s a bunch of other candidates that people are going to throw around and I’ve considered, thought about them, but none of them can do what Deion Sanders can do: he can make Jerry Jones less relevant.”

The timing couldn’t be more intriguing. Current Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is on the hot seat as Dallas crawls through a disappointing 3-7 season. McCarthy’s contract is also set to expire, and knowing Jones, who has a penchant for flair, speculation is swirling about high-profile replacements.

Enter Sanders. His charisma and ability to energize teams make him a perfect candidate. NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin appeared on The Herd yesterday, claiming Sanders would “100 percent” accept the Cowboys’ job — on the condition that Dallas drafts Shedeur Sanders as their quarterback.

This potential Sanders-to-Cowboys scenario is dripping with drama. Coach Prime is no stranger to Dallas, having starred as a cornerback for the team during his Hall of Fame playing career. If the Cowboys land a top-10 draft pick, the stars could align for a package deal involving Sanders and his son, signaling a fresh start for the struggling franchise.

However, if Sanders does end up in Dallas, the question will be — can Coach Prime balance Jerry Jones’ notoriously tight grip on the Cowboys while restoring the team to glory?
