Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins did not practice on Thursday. What is Hopkins’ status, and will he able to suit up for tonight’s “Monday Night Football” game against the Miami Dolphins? Here’s the latest on the veteran wide receiver’s status.

The Latest on DeAndre Hopkins’ Status?

Titans fans and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief: Hopkins is fine. The veteran wideout had Thursday off as a scheduled rest day and he returned to practice as a full participant on Friday, so there’s no injury or personal situation to worry about.

Given Hopkins’ age and the fact that he missed most of training camp while battling a knee injury, it’s understandable that a missed practice was cause for concern.

However, Hopkins is doing just fine. In fact, he doesn’t even have an injury designation this week, so he’s good to go for tonight’s showdown against the Dolphins.

    Hopkins’ Fantasy Outlook

Hopkins is coming off his best game of the season, as he had six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers (after totaling just three receptions for 17 yards in the previous two contests).

It’s a been slow grind, but Hopkins was up to a 45.3% snap share last week against the Packers last week (his highest of the season), and it resulted in a top-20 finish at the position.

I still have Calvin Ridley ranked as the WR1 in Tennessee’s offense (both for Week 1 and for the rest of the season). However, betting on any member of this passing game to be anything more than a risk/reward Flex option who requires a touchdown to pay off your confidence is a step I’m not willing to take.

We desperately need to see the reckless version of Will Levis if any of his receivers are going to pay off, and we didn’t really get that last week. Instead, the second-year quarterback got four different players a catch on Tennessee’s first drive.

Levis isn’t void of talent; he’s void of consistency. That makes it very hard for him to support two different receivers and have them both be fantasy-relevant.

With Hopkins’ snap count trending up, there’s a duplication of skills with Ridley that figures to be an issue. I don’t doubt that one of these big-play receivers can be an asset, but I find it unlikely that the same name fills that role on any sort of consistent basis.
