Davison Igbinosun is a cornerback from Ohio State who is ranked No. 55 on my NFL Draft Top 100 Big Board. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Igbinosun’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.
Davison Igbinosun’s NFL Draft Potential
Davison Igbinosun showed promise through Ohio State’s National Championship 2024 campaign, but from an evaluative perspective, his over-reliance on extraneous physicality and his lack of penalty discipline held his stock back.
Now, in 2025, he’s worked toward ironing that out of his game — for the most part. There are still moments where Igbinosun gets too grabby, but there are flashes of him being a true “feet first” aficionado at 6’2″, and he has the rapid foot speed, terse corrective athleticism, and size-defying fluidity to match, redirect, and re-accelerate with ease. Add in Igbinosun’s competitive zeal in run support, as well as his stack-erasing vertical speed, and he has definite Round 1 upside.
Igbinosun wasn’t tested as much as one would have preferred through the regular season as a whole, as Ohio State’s front seven consistently suffocated opposing offenses before they could generate much in the way of momentum. But more often than not, he did his job. Against Penn State, he squared up and engaged blocks well in support, and managed space effectively in zone. Against Purdue, he was targeted seven times by Purdue, and allowed just two completions for 13 yards, while notching two pass breakups, per TruMedia. And against UCLA, he used his twitch, dictating physicality, length, and speed out of breaks to control the opposition.
Against Michigan, some of Igbinosun’s worse habits came to the forefront again. He did draw a penalty on the vertical plane when over-relying on physicality at the catch point, and while some of it could be attributed to the snow later in the game, there were times where his plant-and-drive footwork could’ve been cleaner and more efficient overtop breaks.
Igbinosun’s most important games for his 2026 NFL Draft projection are still to come, but he remains an early-to-mid Day 2 prospect on my board, with Round 1 upside if he can close out the year on a high note. He has the size, length, speed, quickness, and size-adjusted fluidity. He’s one of the most physical CBs in the class, and he flashes brilliance at the catch point and in support.
