Fantasy Injury Updates: David Montgomery, Raheem Mostert, and Breece Hall Impacting Week 13 Rankings

Some big-name RBs are dealing with injuries. What are the latest fantasy injury updates on David Montgomery, Raheem Mostert, and Breece Hall?

With six teams facing bye weeks, fantasy football managers may have a tough time filling their starting rosters. It will be even more complicated once injuries come into play. What are the fantasy injury updates concerning David Montgomery, Raheem Mostert, and Breece Hall?

    RB Injury Updates

    David Montgomery, RB, Detroit Lions

Editor’s note: Montgomery was a full participant in practice on Thursday for the Lions.

Montgomery has been having a great season in Detroit this year. A stellar offensive line combined with his talent has resulted in him currently being RB19. Of the eight games he has played this year, only once was he outside the top 20.

He has, however, missed three games due to injury. Montgomery missed Week 3 and Weeks 7–8 due to thigh and rib injuries, respectively, but did return to the field just as strong and efficient as he had left it. Montgomery was limited at practice on Wednesday, this time for a foot issue as opposed to either the thigh or rib injury that sidelined him previously.

It is unclear the extent of this injury or if it will put his status for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints in doubt. If he does miss the game, Jahmyr Gibbs would step in as the RB1, and he delivered handily the weeks that Montgomery was on the sideline earlier in the year. New Orleans is middle of the road against RBs, and Gibbs has four finishes in the top seven in the last five games.

    Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins

Editor’s note: Mostert was a limited participant in practice for the Dolphins on Thursday.

The RB2 on the season, Miami’s Raheem Mostert, might be battling an injury. Mostert popped up on Wednesday’s Miami Dolphins injury report, as he did not practice with an ankle/knee issue.

There is little information about this potential injury, but Mostert has missed Wednesday practices before, often using them as an additional day of rest for an older veteran. With De’Von Achane’s injury status up in the air, if Mostert has to miss Sunday, we could see Jeff Wilson Jr. leading the backfield.

Keep an eye on the practice reports to see if Mostert returns to practice. Miami plays Washington this week, and the Commanders have given up the 12th most fantasy points to opposing RBs this season.

Breece Hall, RB, New York Jets

Editor’s note: Hall is being listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Falcons.

The big injury news coming out of the New York Jets camp today was the return of QB Aaron Rodgers to physical activity on the practice field. However, other injury news did pop up regarding other players.

Lead RB Hall showed up on the injury report on Wednesday and was limited in practice due to a hamstring issue. It is uncertain when the injury happened and the extent.

Fantasy managers should monitor practice reports to see how Hall progresses through the week. The Jets play the Atlanta Falcons this week, and if Hall has to sit, Dalvin Cook should take over the backfield, but he is not necessarily a startable fantasy option. Cook just has not been able to get it going this year — currently RB66 on a team that is struggling desperately to get its offense going.
