Who Are the Cowboys’ Top Fantasy Players?

    WR CeeDee Lamb

The Cowboys understand Lamb is the best player on the team and go out of their way to get him the ball. Last season, Lamb saw a 29.9% target share and was targeted on 29.9% of his routes run. The desire to get Lamb the ball early often explains his low 9.5-yard aDOT (average depth of target).

Fortunately, Lamb is one of the best receivers in the league after the catch. He led all receivers with 680 yards after the catch, which helped him reach 2.89 yards per route run — fifth in the league.

While Cowboys fans undoubtedly wish this team had more offensive weapons, from a fantasy standpoint, it’s a near-perfect environment.

    QB Dak Prescott

Fantasy managers don’t appear to be convinced by Prescott’s excellent 2023 season. His ADP currently sits at No. 74 overall, going off the board as the QB9 overall behind Joe Burrow, Jordan Love, and C.J. Stroud.

Prescott has definitely been a bit volatile year over year concerning his fantasy production, which is likely why his ADP is in the seventh round at the moment. It also doesn’t help matters that his top wideout is in a bit of a contract dispute. Additionally, Prescott’s rushing production doesn’t really feel like it’s among the elite dual-threat options at the position.

Ultimately, the last three times Prescott has played at least 16 games in a season, he has finished as a top-eight fantasy QB, which makes him worth the seventh-round price tag on draft day.

    WR Brandin Cooks

Cooks finished as the WR43 last season. He’s currently being drafted as the WR68. Based on the Cowboys’ offensive situation, it’s a near guarantee that Cooks will outperform his ADP. Yet, that doesn’t necessarily make him an appealing target in fantasy drafts.

Cooks was third on the Cowboys in targets last season behind Lamb and Jake Ferguson. There’s a chance he could be second this season. Yet, it’s hard to envision him being an impactful fantasy asset.
