Cowboys Predicted To Trade EDGE Micah Parsons to Rebuilding AFC Team Led by $160 Million Superstar

The Dallas Cowboys appear headed toward extending the contract of superstar EDGE Micah Parsons, but a deal is yet to be finalized.

Parsons is one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers and will rightfully demand a historical deal from the Cowboys or any team he is dealt to. The issue is that the Cleveland Browns beat Dallas to the punch in inking their defensive anchor to an extension, as Myles Garrett signed for $204.8 million over four years.

Now, Parsons’ hypothetical deal will be even pricier, and the Cowboys may foolishly decide it’s not worth paying him. If that’s the case, a rebuilding AFC team could swoop in on the night of the 2025 NFL Draft and create a terrifying yet expensive tandem.

Cowboys Predicted To Trade Micah Parsons to Cleveland Browns

The financials of this bold trade move would be off the charts for Cleveland, as it would be home to the two most expensive pass rushers in league history.

However, PFSN’s Kyle Soppe still suggested the Browns could pull it off, sending the No. 2 pick, No. 67 pick, a 2026 second-round pick, and DE Isaiah McGuire to the Cowboys for Parsons and the No. 12 pick.

“With the No. 2 selection, the Cowboys draft Travis Hunter with the intention of playing him at both wide receiver and cornerback. Deion Sanders, Hunter’s college coach, played both positions for the Cowboys,” Soppe shared of how Dallas would use the picks. “In the second round, Dallas will select Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, followed by Ole Miss EDGE rusher Princely Umanmielen and Georgia guard Dylan Fairchild in the third round.”

While Hunter is a generational talent and one of the most unique players in recent memory, is he worth giving up the most important piece of your defense for? That’s a question only Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ front office can answer, but the fanbase would certainly be upset, at least at first.

Dallas is entering a new era with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer running the show. It may be tough for a first-time head coach to properly use the Colorado Buffaloes superstar on both sides of the ball, which adds further to the wild case that the Cowboys should have hired Sanders instead.

Soppe then explained why the Browns agreed to this, writing, “Meanwhile, the Browns pair Parsons with Myles Garrett to bolster a defense that ranked eighth in PFSN’s Defense+ metric last year. This move comes in response to competing in an AFC North that features two teams ranked in the top seven in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.”

“With the 12th pick, Cleveland will target a running back — likely North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton, unless Jeanty is still available,” Soppe concluded.

Garrett and Parsons would undoubtedly wreak havoc for every opposing line and quarterback, but this deal is far-fetched unless the Cowboys are absolutely in love with the idea of landing Hunter.
