Remember when former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons took a break during a Cowboys preseason game and stretched out on a training table? It was something that, at the time, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn’t really think much about.
Well, now that Parsons is wreaking havoc along the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line this season, Jones’ tune about Parsons’ act has changed.

What Did Jerry Jones Say About Micah Parsons?
Jones, in advance of the Cowboys’ “Monday Night Football” appearance as Dallas hosts the Arizona Cardinals, appeared on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio on Monday. Jones is now singing a different tune about Parsons, who played really well for Jones’ team.
Cowboys reporter Jon Machota of The Athletic posted on X a comment from Jones about the entire situation.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @SIRIUSXM while talking about Michael Irvin and DeMarcus Ware: “Not one time, not even in the hottest of two-a-days in August in Texas … I never seen either one of these two go over and lay on a damn training table in front of a million people.” pic.twitter.com/ZVxLSpl8hU

“Not one time, not even in the hottest of two-a-days in August in Texas … I never seen either one of these two go over and lay on a damn training table in front of a million people,” Jones said when talking about DeMarcus Ware and Michael Irvin.
But Jones was just getting warmed up. He even addressed some leadership issues around Parsons’ time with the team.
“This is not fair, Micah is not here,” Jones said. “I really think a lot of Micah Parsons. And there wasn’t a question of wanting him on the team. But to anoint him in terms of (being captain of the defense), and everybody else looking at him, you better (do) some thinking.”
Parsons provided a lot of stellar play for the Cowboys during his time with the team. Despite Jones’ claim about not wanting to “anoint him” as the captain of the Dallas defense, Parsons proved time and again that he, in fact, was the de facto leader on the field.
Jones has not liked the way that he’s been seen in light of the Parsons situation. Right now, Dallas enters Monday night’s game with the Cardinals at 3-4-1 on the season. As for the Packers? With Parsons anchoring its defensive line, Green Bay is 5-2-1. Both the Cowboys and Packers’ ties came in a game against each other earlier this season.
Despite Green Bay’s 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Parsons has 10 solo tackles, including 6.5 sacks, so far this season. It’s hard not to imagine that Jones would love to have that type of output along his defensive line this season.
Now Cowboys fans will have to wait and see if Parsons has any reply to Jones’ comments. It looks like the Jones-Parsons debate is far, far from over.
