Pro Football Network’s Owain Jones released his latest mock draft and has the Cowboys selecting one of the most intriguing wide receivers in this year’s draft class. Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell would be staying in the state and heading to Dallas with the No. 24 selection.

2024 NFL Draft QB Rankings: Top Players Include Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels

It’s clear that the Cowboys aren’t willing to sign Prescott to a massive extension right now. While many are confused by the team’s decision, it’s fair to wonder if they will target a quarterback early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Network’s Ian Cummings released his updated quarterback rankings, and the Cowboys could select a player such as South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler on the second day of this year’s draft.

While many speculate if the Cowboys will select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, Stephen Jones said that Dallas doesn’t have to.

Jones believes the presence of backup quarterback Trey Lance could allow them to focus elsewhere in this year’s draft. Jones praised Lance for his athleticism and arm, which the Cowboys are clearly excited about.

Dak Prescott Discusses His Future in Dallas

While the Cowboys continue to evaluate Prescott and the team’s future at quarterback, the current starter addressed where he stands in Dallas.

Prescott seems willing to wait until after the upcoming season to address his contract situation. Despite his play warranting a massive contract extension, Prescott has come to terms with waiting for next offseason and seeing what the future holds.

Following the departure of long-time starting left tackle Tyron Smith in free agency, many expect the Cowboys to address the position early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

If Dallas chooses to address other positions early, there are a few intriguing offensive tackles that the Cowboys can target on day two or day three.

Field Yates of ESPN mentioned Penn State’s Caedan Wallace and Pittsburgh’s Matt Goncalves as offensive tackles with a real chance to be selected in the third round.
