After an underwhelming level of activity in free agency, the Dallas Cowboys must capitalize on their selections in the 2024 NFL Draft. One former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst ripped the Cowboys for their embarrassing lack of additions this offseason.

Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons is apparently trying to convince Dallas’ coaching staff to let him return kicks, following the NFL’s updated rules. Micah Parsons Makes Surprise Lobby To Become the Cowboys’ Kick Returner After NFL Rule Change

After the NFL changed the kickoff rules, Parsons apparently made a pitch to Cowboys special teams coordinator John Fassel about a new idea. Parsons wants an opportunity to be the new kick returner in Dallas. While the idea might sound crazy and likely will never happen, Parsons has the size and freakish athleticism that would make him tough to bring down on the new-look kick returns.

After Cowboys owner Jerry Jones claimed that the team was all in this offseason, Dallas has underwhelmed. The Cowboys have failed to make any notable moves and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III didn’t hold back in his criticism of the franchise. Griffin claimed the Cowboys are acting like the toxic partner in a relationship this offseason. The Cowboys must make significant additions in the 2024 NFL Draft to make up for their lack of activity.

Will Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb Hold Out for a New Contract?

As if the Cowboys didn’t have enough issues to deal with, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb could hold out in an effort to secure a massive contract extension. Lamb has grown into one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and will likely want to be rewarded for his elite play. Now, the Cowboys will be forced to deal with contract questions about Lamb in addition to the controversy surrounding starting quarterback Dak Prescott and his potential new deal.

Following the departure of long-time starting left tackle Tyron Smith in free agency, Dallas could use some help along their offensive line. Pro Football Network’s Anthony Miller released his latest mock draft and has the Cowboys selecting Smith’s potential replacement. If Dallas can land one of the top offensive tackles with the 24th overall pick, it would be wise to fill one of their biggest long-term needs.

Adam Schefter: Cowboys a ‘Sleeper’ in NFL Draft QB Market Amid Dak Prescott Contract Talks

While it doesn’t seem like Prescott will sign a new deal with the Cowboys before next season, Dallas could select his replacement in the 2024 NFL Draft. Adam Schefter of ESPN believes that the Cowboys are a sleeper team to make a notable move at quarterback in this year’s event. Considering the talent at quarterback in this year’s draft class, Dallas could look to secure Prescott’s eventual replacement early in the draft.
