Micah Parsons isn’t just dominating on the football field, he’s carving out space off it as well. The Dallas Cowboys linebacker, who is eligible for a massive contract extension, is doubling down on his commitment to podcasting despite mounting criticism.
His response? A clear message backed by a nine-figure argument.

Micah Parsons Responds to Podcast Criticism, Highlights $100M Deal
Parsons’ podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” launched in 2023 through a partnership with Bleacher Report and has since become a notable platform and sounding board in the NFL media landscape.
While the popular podcast has earned him significant attention, not all of it has been positive. Fans, analysts, and even teammates have questioned whether the in-season show distracts him from football. Still, Parsons has shown no intention of stepping away, and his performance supports his stance.
The All-Pro linebacker recently became just the sixth player in NFL history to record 50 sacks within his first four seasons, despite missing four games in 2024. This elite level of production helps reinforce his case that the podcast hasn’t diminished his focus or effectiveness.
On Friday, Parsons directly addressed his critics following a Front Office Sports report that Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe is expected to sign a media deal worth more than $100 million.
Parsons took to X and posted: “’Stop the podcast Micah’ yea Ite..”
That short message delivered a powerful rebuttal to his critics. By pointing to Sharpe’s success in the media world, particularly with his “Club Shay Shay” podcast and new “Shay Shay Network,” Parsons effectively made the case that players can thrive both on the field and in the media.
“No just set up my life for after football!! The NFL is unforgiving and each year is never guranteed!! Most players make that mistake thinking the NFL last forever and it doesn’t!” Parsons added.
Parsons Continues To Build Up Podcast Brand
Parsons further responded to a fan’s comment by saying: “No just set up my life for after football!! The NFL is unforgiving and each year is never guranteed!! Most players make that mistake thinking the NFL last forever and it doesn’t!”
Sharpe’s upcoming deal reportedly follows the expiration of his previous contract with Colin Cowherd’s “The Volume.” As Front Office Sports journalists Michael McCarthy and Ryan Glasspiegel reported, Sharpe is set to ink the nine-figure agreement for his independent platform.
Meanwhile, Parsons continues to evolve his own media presence. His podcast has hosted several big-name guests, including regular appearances from Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and Ravens running back Derrick Henry.
The show dives into NFL trends and hot-button topics on the regular, which gives Parsons a voice that goes beyond game day. All of this comes as Parsons enters the final year of his rookie contract. While Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has downplayed urgency, ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated optimism:
“I would say that, eventually, both sides will figure out that deal and get it done,” Schefter said. “When you’re talking about $40+ million a year, or whatever the number is, why are you ever stepping foot on a football field until that deal is done?”
If anything is clear, it’s that Parsons is positioning himself not only as the face of the Cowboys’ defense but as a long-term media player with big plans beyond football.
