Josh Allen is fresh off his first MVP campaign and has continued to impress this season, guiding the Buffalo Bills to a strong 6–3 start. But early in the first quarter of the Bills’ Week 11 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the star quarterback made a surprising mistake, drawing a pointed jab from a Dallas Cowboys legend.

Cowboys Legend Takes Dig At Josh Allen’s INT
Early in the first quarter, with just over 10 minutes remaining, the Bills were backed up at their own 5-yard line when Allen faced immediate pressure from linebacker SirVocea Dennis.
As Dennis lunged onto him, Allen attempted to avoid a sack by lofting a pass toward Joshua Palmer. The throw, however, sailed off target and landed directly in the hands of Buccaneers cornerback Jacob Parrish.

The play served as an unwelcome reminder of the accuracy and decision-making concerns that overshadowed Allen early in his career. Cowboys legend Michael Irvin wasted no time drawing the comparison, posting on X, “That was the OLD Josh Allen @BuffaloBills.”

While Allen struggled with turnovers in his early seasons, he has since developed into one of the NFL’s most disciplined and efficient quarterbacks. Sunday’s miscue was more of a rare lapse than a regression, and ultimately, it didn’t cost Buffalo much.
Parris was less than 10 yards away from the end zone before being tackled, and Tampa Bay settled for a field goal. Allen and the Bills responded immediately on the next drive, with the quarterback capping it off by rushing in a touchdown to give Buffalo a 7–3 lead after the first quarter.
Allen’s knack for evading pressure, breaking tackles, and launching deep throws sets him apart, making the Bills star a uniquely dangerous threat. PFSN’s Quarterback Impact metric lists Allen as one of the league’s most potent players at the position, placing him fourth with an 88.1 rating. The Bills’ entire offense ranks third in the NFL on PFSN’s Offense Impact metric.
Once viewed as a raw but promising prospect, Allen has transformed into an elite playmaker thanks to his massive arm, improved decision-making, and dynamic rushing ability. Through nine games this season, he has thrown for 2,139 yards and 15 touchdowns with just five interceptions, while adding 311 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground.
And as of writing, the 29-year-old has added one more rushing and passing touchdown each to his name.
