WATCH: Cowboys Legend Dez Bryant Playfully Calls Out Micah Parsons With TD Video From Team Facility

Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Dallas Cowboys All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons is seeking a record-breaking contract extension. So far, the Cowboys have been unwilling to give in to his demands.

Unlike others in his position, Parsons showed up for the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp from June 10 to 12. This approach differs from what we’ve seen from players such as Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, but Parsons felt his presence was necessary for the team’s culture.

Despite that show of good faith, one former Cowboys All-Pro wide receiver could not resist taking another playful jab at Parsons on social media on Monday.

Dez Bryant Calls Out Micah Parsons in Latest War of Words

Former Cowboys All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant has a complex relationship with Parsons. The two had a heated exchange this offseason, as Parsons took offense to Bryant’s call for a “culture shift” within the organization.

That struck a nerve with Parsons, with the All-Pro defensive end questioning Bryant’s leadership during his career.

“Stuff like this (irritates) me, Dez, because you had (enough) talent and was probably one (of the) greatest in your time! You could have changed the culture, brother!! You could have changed the culture,” Parsons wrote back in January.

Five months later, Bryant returned to social media to playfully call out the Cowboys’ current pass rusher. This time, he did so while running a fade route into the end zone.

“Hey (Parsons), I’m out here. I know you ain’t nowhere to be found. I know y’all are into camp … I’m just letting you know, I’m out here,” Bryant said before scoring a 15-yard touchdown against air.

It’s uncertain if Bryant’s latest video is in jest or if there’s still beef there, but the outspoken wide receiver continues to poke the bear. Parsons will likely respond in time, but he is currently focused on the 2025 season.

Parsons in Attendance for Cowboys Mandatory Minicamp

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer praised Parsons for his commitment, noting that he is “doing the things he’s supposed to do, in terms of he’s training, he’s prepping … and nobody is more excited than Micah about what we’re building here.”

During the mandatory minicamp, Parsons was seen having a lengthy conversation with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, sparking speculation that negotiations were ramping up. However, Parsons later clarified that their discussion focused more on his offseason training and leadership than on contract specifics.

According to ESPN, the Cowboys and Parsons “have not had meaningful discussions regarding a long-term deal since the player and owner and general manager Jones had a meeting in March.” At the time, Jones indicated that they had settled on the length of the deal, guaranteed money, and average salary.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently did his best to diffuse the situation, expressing optimism that a deal will eventually be reached between the two sides. If that turns out to be true, these playful jabs between Parsons and Bryant are likely to continue.
