The Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs is upon us, which means just a handful of games remain in the season. Time is limited to capitalize on fantasy football and betting value. Here at Pro Football Network, we’re diving into each individual player taking the field this weekend and seeing what values might exist. Today, we’ll look at Cooper Kupp’s DFS value and whether any prop bets are worth taking.
Cooper Kupp’s DFS value vs. Buccaneers
Unsurprisingly, the best wide receiver in fantasy this season is the most expensive WR on the DraftKings weekend slate. Kupp checks in at $8,600 — $100 more than Davante Adams and a whopping $1,000 pricier than Deebo Samuel from yesterday’s Divisional Round matchup.
Kupp had 9 receptions on 12 targets for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Bucs back in Week 3. He had a down week last week with just 17.1 PPR fantasy points. That’s where we’re at with Kupp; 17 fantasy points is disappointing.
This week, I can’t help but wonder if Kupp may not be heavily rostered due to his price. Kupp had six games this season with over 30 fantasy points. There are quality lineups to be built involving either a Los Angeles Rams stack with Matthew Stafford or a Bucs stack with Kupp as the bring-back.
With the Rams likely having to go pass-heavy against a defense more susceptible to the pass than the run (12th-fewest fantasy points allowed to WRs vs. third-fewest allowed to RBs), I like Kupp to push 100 yards receiving and a touchdown this week. We know his ceiling is the highest of anyone in fantasy football, so feel free to force him into your DFS lineup.
Cooper Kupp prop bets this weekend
It’s always difficult to bet Kupp props. You never feel confident in any unders, given how frequently Stafford peppers Kupp with targets — both downfield and underneath.
At the same time, Kupp’s receiving yards total opened at 100.5 (-115) on DraftKings. That’s such a high number, but for good reason. Kupp went over 100 receiving yards 11 times this season.
Kupp’s receptions total is just as high. It opened at 8.5 (under -140). He caught at least 9 passes nine times this season.
Both of these totals are where they need to be. I find betting props to generally be profitable. There is often value to exploit. However, when it comes to the best wide receiver in fantasy football, it’s difficult to find anything to take advantage of. I would leave Kupp props on the table and look elsewhere for better value this weekend.
