With the 2025 regular season schedule locked in, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is turning his attention to a critical late-season stretch that will determine his team’s postseason fate. Four divisional clashes in the final four weeks will test Washington’s depth, discipline, and playoff readiness.
Dan Quinn Breaks Down Commanders Most Anticipated 2025 Matchups
Quinn believes that the trip to MetLife Stadium in Week 15 against the New York Giants is a must-win. The Commanders cannot afford to make any mistakes because things get considerably harder from there on out. With Giants leadership under pressure and their quarterback situation uncertain, the Commanders must exploit that instability.

Rookie Jaxson Dart may see the field if Russell Wilson falters, a possibility that could tip the scales in Washington’s favor. Some are already predicting the Commanders to win the game.
Following that matchup with the Giants, Washington will host the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Though this game could very well have implications related to playoff seeding, much of the juice behind it will be personal.
The Commanders were one victory away from the Super Bowl last season before the hated Eagles defeated them in the Conference Finals matchup. Dan Quinn’s team will surely be seeking retribution this year.
The Commanders drew blood last season with a home win that handed the Eagles their only loss after Week 4. Quinn thinks the confidence gained from that victory could help his team out as they gain one more year of additional experience. With a late season victory over the Eagles, Washington could gain confidence and momentum that leads to a deep postseason run, if not a Super Bowl win.
In Week 17, the Commanders look forward to playing the Cowboys on December 25th. Washington looks to have the advantage in that Christmas Day matchup, as the team’s defenisve line should be no match for Dallas’ weak offenisisve line. Even with quarterback Dak Prescott’s healthy return, the Cowboys might not have enough fire power to compete with Washington this season, especially in the penultimate game of the season.
The regular season wraps in Philadelphia for a Week 18 rematch that could determine the NFC East champion. Participants in last year’s NFC Championship game are going to confront each other for the second time in three weeks. Even if playoff spots are settled, pride and momentum will still be on the line.
As the Commanders brace for the postseason, these pivotal divisional matchups could ultimately define their 2025 campaign.
