Colorado State 2023 NFL Draft Scouting Reports
Cam’Ron Carter, LB
Strengths: Tough, run-defending linebacker with average size. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself, and quickly moves laterally to pursue plays. Remains disciplined with assignments, fires upfield to defend the run, and has a closing burst. Gets decent depth on pass drops and shows recognition when the ball is in the air.

Weaknesses: Not forceful on the blitz. Easily blocked or disrupted by the initial hit. Lacks true pursuit speed.
Overall: Carter was a productive run defender for Colorado State, totaling 176 tackles over the past two seasons, but he comes with weakside LB size and DE speed.
Dequan Jackson, LB
Strengths: Four-year starter who accumulated more than 300 tackles after breaking in with the first team. Tough, intense linebacker who gets the most from his abilities. Aggressive, fires upfield, and sells out defending the run.
Breaks down well and uses his hands to protect himself. Instinctive and quickly locates the ball handler. Strong for his size, quick closing to the action, and stacks well against the run. Displays solid range getting out to the sidelines in pursuit.
Weaknesses: Possesses average size and gets easily sealed from plays. Lacks true pursuit speed. Displays average ability in coverage.
Overall: Jackson was a tough run-defending linebacker for Colorado State but comes with limited upside and marginal athleticism.
