Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson fires agent (AFC North and Goal Podcast)

    Cleveland Browns and Duke Johnson

Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson has been the odd man out for two years now. With the Browns, Johnson has been replaced by Nick Chubb, and although he openly asked for a trade, it doesn’t seem likely. The Browns have maintained that Johnson will stay with the team until the Browns either find a trade partner for him or until he is no longer useful.

The Cleveland Browns haven’t given Duke Johnson his time in the limelight. His most significant chance was his rookie season where he started in seven games and had zero touchdowns. The next season he played in all sixteen games once again but only started one game and had one touchdown. In four years with the Browns, he has played in all 64 games with ten total touchdowns and 1,286 yards.

The Bottom line is that Johnson has never been given a full sixteen game starting stint with the Cleveland Browns. He hasn’t shown the Browns that he deserves it. He hasn’t been productive on the field and requesting a trade is laughable to most NFL media members. Johnson will need to produce on the ground before he can request a trade out of Cleveland.

Is Hue Jackson the worst head coach in NFL history? Why doesn’t Todd Gurley just come out and tell everyone the truth?
