Could Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill be on the move again? Hill reportedly took himself out of a game and said, “I’m out, bro.” He pulled back, apologized, and recommitted to the team, but sometimes we say things that we can’t take back because we mean them.
The man nicknamed Cheetah tore up NFL defenses in 2022 and 2023. In his first season with the Dolphins, he caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. His second season was even better. He made 119 catches again, but picked up 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023. He saw a dip in production in 2024. A wrist injury and inconsistent quarterback play limited Hill to 81 receptions, 959 yards, and six touchdowns.
Hill had off-season surgery to repair his wrist and he’s expected to be at full health going into training camp, but there’s speculation bouncing around the league about Hill’s future in Miami.
Does Tyreek Hill Really Want Out of Miami?
In a recent appearance on “Good Morning Football,” Super Bowl champ and former wide receiver Isaiah Stanback gave his thoughts on Hill’s situation in Miami.
“Do I think Tyreek Hill wants to get out of Miami? Yes,” said Stanback. “I think he wants to get out of Miami. I think that he needs to get out of Miami. I think that the off-field pressures, the things that he’s had off the field, are starting to pollute his ability to be a productive receiver that he truly is.
“I don’t believe that he’s happy with the quarterback situation right now,” Stanback said. He then addressed the elephant in the room. “I think early on when Tua (Tagovailoa) was playing prior to his concussion issues and he had him and Waddle out there balling, yeah, he was happy as all get out.
“Yes, he was accurate,” Stanbeck said. “Tua is accurate when he’s on the field. That wasn’t a lie. But the reality is he hasn’t been on the field, and Tyreek Hill is one of the most dangerous receivers in this league, and he hasn’t been able to do that because his quarterback hasn’t been available.
“So, yes, he does, I would imagine wants to get out of that situation and find himself in a situation where he has some form of consistency where he can be the player that he knows that he is,” Stanbeck speculated.

Hill arrived in Miami in 2022 after being traded from the Kansas Chiefs in exchange for five draft picks: a first-round (No. 29), second-round (No. 50), and fourth-round pick in 2022, and fourth and sixth-round picks in 2023.
Almost immediately, he signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the Dolphins that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time.
He’s called quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, “the most accurate quarterback in the NFL,” while leaving him off of his personal list of top five NFL quarterbacks.
Regardless of his personal relationship with Tagovailoa, Hill will have to figure out out if he wants to fish or cut bait with the Dolphins.
