    Who Are Dante Moore’s Parents?

Moore was born on May 24, 2005, in East Cleveland, Ohio. His father, Otha Moore, is a former semi-pro basketball player and former high school athlete who essentially raised Dante and his two older siblings as a single parent. Drawing on his athletic background, Otha played a major role in shaping Moore’s mindset as an athlete.

“I told him, ‘If you work just like the next man, you’re going to be the same as the next man,’ ” Otha said. “ ‘If you work harder than the next man, you’re going to be better.’ ”

Otha is an engineer at Ford and has worn many hats over the years, including working as a bartender and running a landscaping business. He has proudly watched his son hit milestone after milestone in his football journey.

In a 2023 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Otha compared his son’s rise to a high-performance sports car that keeps delivering more the harder you push it, calling what they were witnessing “something very special.”

Moore’s mother, Jera Jane Bohlen-Moore, is originally from Ohio as well. She was an all-state high school guard and later attended the University of Ohio.

In 2023, Jera Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she has since beaten the disease. Moore announced in July 2024 that his mother was cancer-free. Jera Jane frequently shares messages of encouragement and pride as she supports her son’s success on the field.

    Who are Moore’s Siblings?

Moore has two elder siblings: a brother, Otha Moore Jr., and a sister, Adar Moore. Adar frequently serves as a motherly presence in the Oregon quarterback’s life.

“Everything we’ve prayed for is unfolding in real life,” Adar shared on her Instagram story for Moore’s 20th birthday in May. “Being baptized with you by my side will always be my favorite memory and greatest blessing-there’s no feeling like it.”

    What is Moore’s Ethnicity?

Moore is African American. He has also discussed the importance of competing against a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) and what that experience means to him as a Black man.

Where Did Moore Go to High School?

Moore attended Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, Michigan. He threw for 9,880 yards and 135 touchdowns with 20 interceptions in his high school career.

Moore completed 175 of 252 passes (69.4%) for 2,392 yards, 32 touchdowns, and three interceptions in 2022, earning him the Michigan Associated Press Division 3-4 Player of the Year. He completed 171 of 244 passes (70.1%). He set school records for passing yards (3,050) and passing touchdowns (40) in 2021, which earned him the MaxPreps High School Michigan Player of the Year award.

Moore was considered a five-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. He was ranked No. 2 overall by ESPN, No. 3 by 247Sports, and No. 4 by Rivals.
