Alabama Slowly Fading As 4 Schools Circle Cam Coleman

After Cam Coleman chose to enter the transfer portal, Alabama has been a consistently predicted landing spot for the receiver. Coleman spent two seasons at Auburn, tallying 1,306 yards & 14 touchdowns.

Additionally, Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard is set to depart for the NFL after declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft. During his last two seasons with the Crimson Tide, the NFL-bound receiver recorded 114 receptions for 1,656 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Alabama Fading As 4 Schools Circle Cam Coleman

Following a recent report, it was revealed that Coleman had narrowed his search down to four programs. This came after USC dropped out of the race after landing the commitment of  NC State wide receiver Terrell Anderson on Monday. Alabama is among the four.

“Yeah, I reported before we came on here, Cam Coleman showed up at Texas Tech. Alabama is expecting him later in the week; he was not there yesterday. I would say it’s wide open. The Alabama one is not one i’ve been certain of.” revealed ON3’s Pete Nakos.

Coleman earned a 75.2 WR impact grade from the PFSN CFB WR Impact Metric after recording 56 receptions for 708 yards during the regular season. During his freshman year, Coleman recorded eight touchdowns as a true freshman.

It was also reported that the Auburn receiver had visited Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. However, no official dates were released in the report on the Former five-star receiver visiting Alabama. Currently, it appears that the Tide is behind in the race.

“At this point in Cam Coleman and his recruitment, plenty of buzz is around the Longhorns, Aggies, and Red Raiders. Alabama has been planning to host Coleman, but On3 has not been able to confirm a specific date at this point,” revealed a report from Nakos.

After it was revealed that Coleman would be departing Auburn, Alabama was listed as one of the potential landing spots by PFSN’s Ryan Guthrie. Additionally, it was noted that Alabama made a strong effort to recruit Coleman during his high school career.

“The Crimson Tide heavily recruited Cam Coleman out of high school, and with Germie Bernard off to the NFL, there’s a clear opening opposite Ryan Williams on the outside. If Alabama gets the 2024 versions of both players, opposing SEC defenses would be stretched to the breaking point,” Guthrie wrote.

Recently, Alabama announced that it would also retain Ryan Williams ahead of the 2026 season. After recording 48 receptions for 865 yards in his freshman year, the Alabama wide receiver recorded just 49 receptions for 689 yards in 2025.

Following that announcement, if Alabama were to land the Auburn receiver, it could potentially have one of the best wide receiver tandems in college football and a replacement for Bernard. However, the Tide looks to have fallen behind in the race.

Additionally, after falling behind in the race, the Crimson Tide will have to pay a significant amount of money if it wants to land Cam Coleman. According to a report from ON3, the wide receiver is set to command more than $2 million in NIL money.
