The Jacksonville Jaguars were going through a major rough patch. Losing three of their last four, their lone victory came in overtime against the Las Vegas Raiders. After an exceptional start to the season, they needed to get back on track.
Unfortunately, in their way was another team in the thick of the playoff race in the form of the Los Angeles Chargers. The result, as was the case the last time these two teams faced off in a playoff setting, went one-sidedly in Jacksonville’s favor. The domination breathed new life into the team and kept their hopes of a postseason berth alive.

Jaguars Remain In Playoff Hunt
With Travis Hunter undergoing season-ending surgery and Brian Thomas Jr. missing time, the situation was getting dire for a Jaguars team trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. But facing a strong Chargers team was going to be an uphill battle for them.
Thankfully, the entire squad showed up in a dominant way for head coach Liam Coen. After a brutal loss to the C.J. Stroud-less Houston Texans, where they squandered a 19-point lead in the fourth quarter, it was exactly the kind of performance they needed.
Beating them 35-6, they limited Los Angeles to less than 93 passing yards and 42 rushing yards, as they took care of business in virtually every facet. A broken and battered offensive line for the Chargers could not hold Jacksonville at bay.
As a result, the team managed just eight first downs on the night. Even the defense, which ranked sixth on PFSN’s Defense Impact coming into the game, was a no-show, as the Jaguars scored five touchdowns on the night.

Trevor Lawrence added one score through the air and one on the ground, as Bhaysul Tuten came alive for a 74-yard, one-touchdown performance, as Travis Etienne continued his renaissance with 73 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
The passing game, which was a major question mark given the injuries to Thomas and Hunter, remained solid, tallying 153 passing yards. Jakobi Meyers, the newly acquired receiver, led all receivers with 64 yards on five catches.
According to PFSN’s Playoff Predictor, the win against the Chargers increased the chances of Jacksonville making the playoffs to 64.30%, representing a 21.10% swing in their favor.
With another winnable game on the horizon against the Arizona Cardinals next week, they will be hoping to continue their winning ways and potentially solidify a spot in the AFC playoff bracket.
