Shedeur Sanders has experienced his share of highs and lows in 2025, with many of them making headlines. The former Colorado star has dominated conversation around the Cleveland Browns this offseason, even though he appears to be the team’s current fourth-string quarterback.
Away from the field, Sanders is also making an impression in the community, showing up at a youth football camp and connecting with Cleveland’s next generation.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram Stories, Shedeur’s mother, Pilar Sanders, praised her son for giving back.

Shedeur Sanders Attends Justin Hardee Sr.’s Youth Football Camp
Former NFL special teamer Justin Hardee Sr. recently hosted his fourth annual youth football camp in Cleveland, Ohio. Hardee, who played for the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans, grew up in Cleveland and attended Glenville High School before heading to college in 2012.
Hardee has carved out a solid NFL career as a versatile special teams standout, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2022. Looking to give back to the city that raised him, he hosts a free camp for kids aged six to 16.

In 2024, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and then-quarterback Jameis Winston attended the camp. Now a Cleveland resident, Sanders stopped by this year’s event and shared a heartwarming photo from the day on his social media.
Pilar Sanders Expresses Pride While Sharing Shedeur’s Instagram Post
Sanders’ post was met with an outpouring of support, including a comment from Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Among the replies was one from his mom, Pilar, who responded with an emphatic “Son!”
Pilar then shared the image to her Instagram Stories, adding another emotional message to celebrate her son’s efforts.
“Cuz it is what it is no matter what! Yes Son! Our summers and home looked like this for so many years! People just don’t know!”
It’s no surprise that Pilar would champion something that shines a positive light on her son. Shedeur had his character questioned more than any other player in the 2025 NFL Draft, with many top analysts publicly debating his personality and perceived arrogance. Those debates often crossed into racial territory.
After sliding to the fifth round of the draft in disappointing fashion, Sanders is now focused on proving himself at the pro level. While he has plenty of work ahead to impress coaches during training camp, moments like this show a different side of him to the NFL community.
A voluntary stop at a youth football camp in Cleveland was a good place to start.
