Shedeur Sanders suffered one of the most shocking draft day slides in recent memory. While he entered the pre-draft process viewed as a surefire first-round pick (potentially a top-five pick), the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback slid to day three, where the Cleveland Browns selected him in the fifth round.
While fifth-round picks generally don’t compete for a starting role in their rookie season, that is not the case for the son of Pro and College Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. He is currently in an ongoing battle with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel to open the season as the Browns’ starter.
Cleveland recently kicked off their youth camp on Monday, and Sanders seemed to have had a good time, as he was seen dancing with a young fan.

Sanders’ drastic fall in the draft was shocking after he concluded his collegiate career with a strong final season. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing an NCAA-best 74.0% of his passes and rushing for four touchdowns. He was named an All-American and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year while winning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
While many suggested that Sanders’ draft day slide was due to his attitude, he has received plenty of praise since joining the Browns. According to reports from camp, the rookie quarterback has shone both on the field and in the locker room.
As Cleveland hosted elementary students for their youth camp’s first day, Sanders danced with a young fan. Change7he Narrative shared the clip to X on Monday, tweeting:

Despite reports that Sanders was arrogant in pre-draft meetings, he has kept a positive attitude during the first camp of his NFL career. His willingness to spend time with the next generation of players shows that he has embraced his role as he competes for a starting job.
While he has faced arguably more criticism than any fifth-round pick in NFL history, Sanders has not allowed the negative talk to affect his mindset. He recently promised that he would bring a Super Bowl title to Cleveland. The former Buffaloes quarterback has received plenty of high praise during camp, with many suggesting that he should begin the season atop the Browns’ depth chart.
