The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and there’s been plenty of speculation as to who the team may draft the play quarterback if anyone at all.
One potential player is Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.
At the owner’s meetings, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked about him and provided insight into what he sees when examining the incoming rookie signal-caller.

Kevin Stefanski’s Provides Insight Into Milroe’s Game
In the clip, the audio from the person asking the question—who is seemingly Tony Grossi, a Browns analyst—is quite faint, but at the end, you can hear, “…Why is he being considered so seriously?” in reference to Milroe.
Tony asked Stefanski why is Milroe being considered for the QB position:

“I don’t see him just as a runner, Tony, that’s certainly an element of his game God’s blessed him with the ability to make plays with his feet when necessary, but he’s made plenty of throws in his career…” Stefanski started.
During the Senior Bowl, Milroe struggled with accuracy, missing upward of eight throws during the 1-on-1 drills.
Then, Stefanski was asked about the Senior Bowl and whether he’d seen improvement from Milroe since the event.
“I don’t know if I’d say improvement. I mean, obviously, Senior Bowl, you get in the 7-on-7 or that type of drill, so this is on air, but yeah, I think you’re always looking at mechanics and how you can help a player… I think the biggest thing, Tony, is that it’s such a body of work…”
Stefanski mentioned Milroe’s strengths (running) but also mentioned things like mechanics, which Milroe seemingly struggled with at the Senior Bowl.
Where PFSN Latest Mock Slots Jalen Milroe
Milroe isn’t selected in PFSN’s latest mock draft by Alex Kennedy, which is just the first round.
However, at No. 2 overall, Kennedy slotted Abdul Carter, the edge rusher from Penn State, to the Browns.
In Brentley Weissman’s 7-round mock draft at PFSN, he has Milroe going No. 40 overall in the second round to the New Orleans Saints.
“New Orleans has taken a few mid-round swings for a young quarterback with Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler, but neither is likely to develop into anything more than long-term backups. Jalen Milroe has a chance to be a good starting quarterback in the league, and he has rare physical tools to warrant a gamble here in the second round.”
The Saints incumbent starter, Derek Carr, is under contract for 2025 and 2026.
After him, the Saints have, as Weissman mentioned, Rattler and Haener. They both made appearances during the 2024 campaign.
