With a 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns are now 1-5 on the season. This was the team’s fourth straight loss, and Browns fans want Watson to get benched.
Unfortunately for them, the Browns are continuing with the 29-year-old quarterback. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Watson will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 7.

Browns Fans Are Not Happy With Deshaun Watson
Stefanski mentioned that the team has a better chance of winning with Watson as the quarterback. Browns fans on social media did not agree with the head coach and expressed their concern. Here’s how they reacted:
Stefanski is going to get himself fired over Watson https://t.co/lYROmwf4XS

“Playing Watson will be the reason there’s a new head coach in Cleveland next year.” said one fan.
“Ownership forcing him to say this,” added another.
is Stefanski trying to figure a way out of Cleveland? or did Haslam give the mandate that Watson plays no matter what (barring injury)?

“Stefanski has been a fantastic coach for the Browns, but you have to have some level of accountability for the QBs awful play… instead he scapegoats the entire rest of the offense!! Good way to lose the locker room. Blame everyone else and excuse the main culprit,” added another fan.
Then he shouldn’t be the head coach. No person of sound mind can think this is true. https://t.co/VLIXWj4W42

Despite many fans saying that the team’s ownership has forced Stefanski to start Watson, Cleveland’s head coach cooled off that rumor. “We have a good dialogue with myself, Andrew (Berry), ownership … Any decision when it comes to football is my decision,” said Stefanski about the situation.
Last year, the team played well with Joe Flacco as their quarterback, and this is why fans want to see Jameis Winston on the field instead of Watson.
Watson played well in the second half of the game against the Eagles, but his shortcomings in the first half left a bad impression. He has thrown for 1,020 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions in six games this season and has completed 61.3% of his passes.
He has a QBR of 21.5, ranking last in the league this season. If Watson wants to win fans over, he must build on his second-half performance from Week 6 and put on a show against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Nick Chubb Will Make Season Debut for Browns in Week 7
Help is on the way for Watson and the Browns as Nick Chubb is expected to make his season debut in Week 7. The star running back tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL in Week 2 last year and has been out since then.
When healthy, he is one of the best running backs in the game. Although Chubb will take time to get back to his usual level, his presence in the backfield will improve the Browns’ offense.
In his last fully healthy season, the 28-year-old running back rushed for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns on 302 carries, averaging 5.0 yards per carry, along with 27 receptions for 239 yards and a touchdown.
The Browns’ offense is third-worst in the league, averaging just 15.8 points per game this season. With games coming against the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, Watson and coach Stefanski need to put together a sound game plan because fans are growing impatient with the team.
