The anticipation is building with the 2025 NFL Draft just over a month away. With the Combine complete and free agency slowing, teams are zeroing in on their most significant needs. For the Cleveland Browns, there’s no question that quarterback has been at the top of their list for a while.

Are Cleveland Browns QB Woes Nearing a Resolution?
A recent Instagram story video posted by Browns tight end David Njoku is going viral after featuring a top prospect in this year’s draft. ESPN Cleveland shared the video on X, drawing plenty of attention.

In the clip, Njoku appears to be at a Browns facility when projected top-three pick Cam Ward walks by, saying, “Cleveland, Cleveland.” While the Browns don’t have complete control over whether they land Ward, if he’s available at their No. 2 pick, the immediate assumption is they’ll take him.
Since 2010, the Browns have had a staggering 27 different quarterbacks start a game. The instability at the league’s most important position has led to multiple top-five draft selections. Whether it’s been poor fits in Cleveland or quarterbacks failing to pan out in the NFL, the Browns’ luck at QB has been brutal. Now, in 2025, they can’t afford another miss.
Where Cam Ward Falls in Recent PFSN Mock Draft
In a recent PFSN 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Anthony Pasciolla projects the Miami QB landing exactly where Njoku’s post suggests. Pasciolla explains why the 6-foot-2 field general fits well in Cleveland.
“After the Cleveland Browns secured defensive end Myles Garrett to a record-breaking contract extension, it’s obvious the route they plan on taking. Rather than starting a full rebuild, the Browns could select Cam Ward and use Deshaun Watson as a bridge QB while the rest of the roster is built up.
“Ward is by no means a surefire future face of a franchise, but he has all the physical tools to evolve into one. He is explosive and shifty in the pocket and open field while also having a really good deep ball feel.”
Earlier this offseason, Cleveland swapped young quarterbacks with the Philadelphia Eagles, trading Dorian Thompson-Robinson for Super Bowl champion Kenny Pickett and a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft.
With Pickett in and Thompson-Robinson out, the Browns have only two quarterbacks on the roster. As the unpredictable Deshaun Watson remains their only other option, they’ll likely select either Ward or Shedeur Sanders with the No. 2 pick.
