Broncos Predicted To Pull Off ‘Dream Scenario’ in 2025 NFL Draft, Adding 28-TD Speedster to Bo Nix’s Supporting Cast

The Denver Broncos’ very successful season culminated in their return to playoff action, with rookie quarterback Bo Nix leading the offense. However, a major reason for their success was the defense, which finished as the best unit on PFSN’s Defense+ metric.

On the other hand, the offense was middling at best, with Nix’s unit failing to reach the levels of other elite groups. As a result, Denver’s focus heading into the 2025 NFL Draft must be building out the rest of the offense. One analyst has the perfect dream scenario in store for them.

Denver Broncos Build Dream Offensive Unit?

With no real ground game, the Denver offense went as far as the Nix-Courtland Sutton tandem could take them. However, head coach Sean Payton has made it clear that improving on that end of the field is the focus this offseason.

And with their first two picks, NFL analyst Joe DeLeone believes the Broncos are going all out on offense in PFSN’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft. After selecting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland in the first round, he has them targeting Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson with the No. 51 overall pick.

Aside from Sutton, no wide receiver truly stood out for Denver, with Marvin Mims Jr. totaling the second-most receiving yards on the team at just 503. With help needed desperately, DeLeone understands the value Johnson brings to this particular team.

“Denver is bringing the whole Oregon gang back together. Tez Johnson rejoining Troy Franklin and Bo Nix is a dream scenario to help take the Broncos offense to the next level. While Johnson may be undersized, he has the speed to stress defenses like Tank Dell,” DeLeone wrote.

He slowed down this season, with just 898 yards to his name, with his average yards per attempt dropping by almost 3 yards on average (10.8 vs. 13.7). However, when Nix was throwing him the ball, he had his most productive season, tallying 1,182 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished his collegiate career with 3,889 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns.

Last season, snapping an eight-year-long playoff drought was automatically a win for Denver. But to take that next step, the offense needs to keep up with a defense featuring the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Pat Surtain II.

Players like Loveland and Johnson joining the roster should help facilitate Nix’s growth as he enters his sophomore season. This year, he finished as the 18th-ranked quarterback on PFSN’s QB+ metric and was second among rookies, behind only Jayden Daniels.

An improvement to his offensive weapons, leading to a jump from him, could be the difference between the Broncos emerging as a true threat in the AFC.
