The Denver Broncos wrapped up their 2024 season on a high note with a playoff appearance, but their sights are now set on advancing further in the postseason next year. To achieve this, the team will be targeting key players who can strengthen their current roster and elevate their chances of a deeper playoff run.
As they approach the 2025 NFL Draft, their first-round pick will be crucial in securing a standout talent early. A likely move for Denver would be to select a player who can bolster the support around starting quarterback Bo Nix.

Denver Broncos Predicted to Select WR in 1st Round
The latest PSFN 2025 NFL Mock Draft projects Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden to be the Broncos’ selection at No. 20 overall.
Golden is regarded as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2025 class and is quickly emerging as a favorite to be the ideal complementary starter for an established quarterback.
“A coordinated, intelligent route runner with impressive body control attacking the ball in the air, Matthew Golden has been the subject of plenty of buzz in recent weeks. He doesn’t have an elite physical trait, but he’s a well-rounded target who should be a strong complementary starting receiver in the NFL.”
In his lone season at Texas, Golden recorded 58 receptions for 987 yards and 9 touchdowns. While his stats are impressive, his skills on the field far exceed the numbers.
Golden is known for his explosiveness and notable speed—traits that are highly valued in a successful NFL offense.
The Broncos’ receiving corps struggled last season, primarily due to their inability to create enough separation from defenders, which made it difficult for the quarterback to complete accurate passes.
Golden, however, has proven his ability to create that crucial separation and make big plays downfield, addressing a major offensive concern for Denver. His skillset positions him to be the deep threat the Broncos have been lacking.
Moreover, Golden comes with immense potential for growth. With quarterback Bo Nix still relatively young, the franchise could build a long-term, dynamic tandem between the two. If their chemistry develops as expected, it would set the Broncos up for sustained success.
In the later rounds of the draft, the franchise is also expected to target a running back, likely TreVeyon Henderson in the second round, and a tight end, with Harold Fannin Jr. a potential pick in the third round, to further strengthen their offensive arsenal.
