Breece Hall Sends Clear Message on Jets Future Amid Trade Rumors

As the New York Jets prepare for their Sunday game against the Denver Broncos in London, running back Breece Hall is clearing the air about trade rumors circulating the league.

In his fourth NFL season, Hall has been a bright spot for a team still searching for its first win of the 2025 NFL season. His performance has been solid, even as the team has struggled.

What Did Breece Hall Say About Wanting to Stay a Jet?

When members of the British media asked Hall about his commitment to the team, he didn’t hesitate. According to a post on X from Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic on Friday, Hall made his intentions clear. “I’m here, I wanna be here,” Hall said. “I wanna be a New York Jet.”

This statement comes despite the Jets’ tough start. Hall has rushed for over 100 yards in two of their five losses this season. His best season came in 2023, when he rushed for 994 yards and scored five touchdowns.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Hall holds an 89.5 Impact score with a B grade. The former Iowa State standout was drafted by the Jets in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Hall has accumulated 2,684 yards and 14 touchdowns on 578 carries in his career. However, his current 0-5 campaign production has been limited. Through five games, Hall has 66 carries for 351 yards but has not yet scored a touchdown.

His effectiveness has not gone unnoticed, as his name has surfaced in trade discussions among teams looking to upgrade their backfield. There would likely be plenty of takers if the Jets decided to part ways with Hall, despite his desire to remain in New York. There has even been some chatter about the San Francisco 49ers potentially reaching out to pair Hall with his former Iowa State teammate, quarterback Brock Purdy.

His longest run this season was a 23-yard gain during a Week 4 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Last week against the Dallas Cowboys, Hall’s struggles were highlighted on a play where he reached the end zone but fumbled the ball and was injured. The team’s running back depth is already thin, with Braelon Allen on Injured Reserve.

Despite the Jets’ poor start, it’s admirable to hear Hall clearly state his commitment to the organization. The question is whether the Jets will show the same commitment to their running back. Only time will tell.
