Bills Sign 3-Time Super Bowl Champion To Bolster Josh Allen’s WR Room

The Buffalo Bills (6-3) are surprisingly not first in the AFC East.

Heading into Week 11, the Bills are trailing the New England Patriots (8-2) by 1.5 games after their upset loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. Buffalo has a tough matchup against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming up, so making some moves and changes prior to this matchup feels appropriate.

One addition the Bills are making is signing a three-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver.

    Bills Sign Mecole Hardman

On Monday evening, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler announced the Bills are signing WR Mecole Hardman.

“Bills are signing wide receiver Mecole Hardman to the practice squad, per source,” Fowler posted to X.

Hardman is a bit of a ‘one-trick pony’ with his speed, but it can be used incredibly effectively if offensive coordinator Joe Brady uses him right. Hardman last appeared with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, where he recorded 12 receptions for 90 receiving yards and no touchdown catches in 12 games. He also tallied five carries for 62 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The 27-year-old won all of his Super Bowls during his first and much more impressive stint with the Chiefs. He hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Buffalo’s wide receiver core is having a solid season. Khalil Shakir is the team’s leading wideout with an impact score of 82.5, per PFSN, which ranks No. 13 at his position. Behind him is sophomore Keon Coleman with an impact score of 72.3 and No. 54 rank among WRs. Shakir leads the team in receiving yards with 457, while tight end Dalton Kincaid has the most touchdowns of any Bills pass catcher with four.

Here’s how social media reacted to the signing:

@snoozealarm13: “Kinda feels like some of our other WRs could catch footballs if the OC would stop calling the ball to Coleman. But sure, let’s sign another one…”

@AaronJRichmond: “At least the Bills have a champion on their roster now.”

@TheRealMrBeach: “He’s got more rings than that franchise.”
