Bills Predicted To Select 15-TD WR in 2026 NFL Draft Amid Uncertainty Around Keon Coleman’s Future

The Buffalo Bills had hoped to add an elite playmaker when they drafted Keon Coleman, but the results have yet to match expectations. Currently in his second season, Coleman has struggled to break out as the star Buffalo envisioned. With his production lagging, a new 2026 NFL mock draft predicts the franchise might take another swing at finding a true No. 1 target.

Why Are the Bills Looking for Another Wide Receiver?

Buffalo has been searching for a reliable pass-catcher to lead their offense ever since moving on from Stefon Diggs. They likely thought they found that answer when they selected Coleman with the 33rd overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, the transition hasn’t been smooth. Coleman has totaled just 61 receptions through his first 22 games and was inactive for each of the team’s past two contests.

While reports suggest that this recent absence stems from disciplinary action, his disappointing numbers have certainly not helped his standing with the team.

PFSN’s Jacob Infante believes the front office will try again in the 2026 NFL Draft. In his most recent projection, he has the Bills selecting USC Trojans star Makai Lemon with the 21st overall pick in the first round.

What Does Makai Lemon Bring to the Offense?

Infante views the USC standout as a potential solution to Buffalo’s lack of a primary option.

“The Buffalo Bills have a solid group of weapons, but they don’t have a true WR1 in their offense right now,” Infante explained. “To me, there’s a clear top three at the wide receiver position in the 2026 NFL Draft, and at No. 21 overall, the Bills are lucky to get one of them.”

Lemon’s production supports that high praise. “Makai Lemon has been the most productive wide receiver in the Big Ten in 2025, which says a lot when you consider how much talent resides in the conference,” Infante noted. “He holds the triple crown, leading with 78 catches, 1,124 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He is a sure-handed slot receiver who’s quick after the catch and consistently gets open against both man and zone coverage with sharp breaks and good leverage work through his stems.”

Lemon has improved in each of his three college football seasons, totaling 1,978 scrimmage yards and 15 touchdowns along the way. Crucially, more than half of his receiving yards and 12 of his total touchdowns have come during the 2025 campaign, showing a desirable upward trajectory in production.

In contrast, Coleman ranks just 58th among all wide receivers in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for this season. His struggles are a key reason why the receiver position remains one of the weakest on the roster, but adding a talent like Lemon could potentially change the dynamic in Buffalo.
