Bijan Robinson has quickly emerged as one of the best running backs in the NFL after the Atlanta Falcons selected him eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He earned the first Pro Bowl nod of his career last season, rushing for 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns on 304 carries while adding 431 receiving yards and one touchdown on 61 receptions.
Robinson is just 23 years old and figures to be in the prime of his career when the 2028 Olympics take place in Los Angeles. It will mark the first time that flag football is played at the Olympics, leading many to speculate which NFL players should make the roster. The Falcons star recently revealed his interest in playing for the team.

Bijan Robinson Reveals His Interest in Playing in 2028 Olympics
While a lot can change in three years, Robinson appears to be on a trajectory to still be among the top running backs in the league when the 2028 Olympics take place.
He was asked about potentially participating in the event, stating:
“I mean, I think it’s awesome. I think all it does is grow the game, a lot. And I think, for me, I grew up playing flag football and that was my offseason game was flag and 7-on-7. So, I feel like it’s always an honor to play for your country – like, you always want to play for your country. And I would love to show my skillset on that type of stage. But, obviously, there’s a lot of great flag football players out here and that’s all that they play and they’re very specific in the game.
“Like, you have guys that they can be running with the football and they can get this low to the ground just to not get touched. No NFL player is doing that – or trying to do that, at least. So, I think it’s going to come down to, obviously, our schedule and where it lies and how the teams – if they let us even go. But, I would love to play in that game, if given the opportunity. But, obviously, we’ll see. I don’t want it to affect my team and what we got going on here.”

There has been plenty of debate regarding whether NFL players or flag football players should represent the United States at the 2028 Olympics. While Robinson is hopeful for the opportunity to do so, he acknowledged that there could be others more deserving of the chance.
