The Washington Commanders will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 13. Here’s the latest fantasy football news and advice to help you with your lineups this week and moving forward, especially regarding RB Austin Ekeler.
Is Austin Ekeler Playing in Week 13?
Updated at 11:30 AM on Sunday, December 1
The Commanders placed Ekeler (concussion) on injured reserve. He will now be out for the next four games.
The Washington Commanders will be missing part of their backfield in Week 13. Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler both went down with injuries in the club’s Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
Robinson went down first, so Ekeler stepped into Washington’s starting RB role. However, he suffered a concussion on a kick return just before the end of regulation and was even taken to a local hospital out of an abundance of caution.
Ekeler is now in the NFL’s concussion protocol officially declared out for Sunday’s game after not practicing all week. This is Ekeler’s second documented concussion of the season (he missed Week 4 because of the same injury), which could lead to a prolonged absence as the team and player both need to exercise caution about a return to play.
We’ll continue to monitor the Commanders’ injury report. You can also visit and bookmark our NFL Injury Tracker and Fantasy News Tracker for the latest updates.
Austin Ekeler’s Fantasy Outlook
I’ve been impressed with Autin Ekeler in his age-29 season, but the scary concussion at the end of last week has him likely to sit out at least this week. I’d keep him rostered for the short term with Brian Robinson Jr. (ankle) also at less than full strength, but you’ll have to stay on top of the news with this situation.
A multi-week projected absence would open you up to the potential of cutting ties for an asset that has a better chance of helping you qualify for the fantasy playoffs.

PFN Insight on the Titans' Defense
After a run of average or worse results, the Tennessee Titans' defense turned it on in Week 12 with a performance that ranked as the third-best of the slate. The scoreboard may not look all that flattering, having given up 27 points, but some offensive faux pas did not give them much wiggle room.
This has been a strange unit. The Titans looked promising at times in the first month but have been very middling ever since. Their three wins have coincided with three of their best four defensive performances this year, with a loss at the hands of the offense's complete collapse in Week 1.
The improvements this year have come in the run defense and in stopping third-down conversions. Tennessee has tightened up its per-play defense, which has helped it bounce back from a 20th-place finish last year before the coaching change. The offense still has a lot of development to do, but this coaching staff can be relatively pleased with their defense's performance so far.

Tennessee Titans at Washington Commanders Trends
Tennessee Titans
Team: Tennessee has 21 turnovers this season, their most through 11 games since 2015. They’ve forced just nine turnovers, their second-lowest mark at this point in the season during the 2000s.
QB: Will Levis opened last week at Houston with 11 straight completions (177 yards and a touchdown)
Offense: The Titans had multiple drives reach the red zone in each of their first nine games — they have had a total of two such drives over the past two weeks.
Defense: The Tennessee defense has shown glimpses of promise, but they are coughing up chunk plays at an alarming rate.
Yards Per Completion Allowed
- Week 8: 6.3
- Week 9: 7.1
- Week 10: 11.7
- Week 11: 12.3
- Week 12: 12.4
Fantasy: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has scored in six of seven games and is producing 50.6% over expectations this season. For reference, Troy Franklin, Greg Dortch, and Tyler Johnson are averaging more expected points than him this season.
Betting: The Titans have played four games against the NFC this season, all against the North – they failed to cover each of those contests.
Washington Commanders
Team: Eight of Washington’s 12 games this season have been decided by a single score, including each of their past five.
QB: Are the ribs bothering Jayden Daniels? Since getting banged up in Week 7, he’s completed just 31.6% of passes when under duress (Weeks 1-6: 57.1%).
Offense: The Rams have scored under 2.25 points per drive three times this season, two of which have come in the past two weeks (at Eagles and vs. Cowboys).
Defense: Washington has allowed at least 26 points in all three games during this losing streak — they allowed more than 15 points in just two of their six previous games.
Fantasy: Noah Brown has quietly seen at least six targets in four of five games, a run that all started with the Hail Mary catch against the Bears.
Betting: Overs have cashed in the Commanders’ past six games against the AFC.
